It was now Saturday and I was in a happy, upbeat mood. Beau had pestered me again all day Friday until I finally gave him my address and allocated a time today to practice our dance. He wasn't coming around until six o'clock tonight and it was currently four in the afternoon and I was becoming hungry. Walking to the fridge I decided on making a homemade meal tonight rather than my usual frozen meals from during the week. I pulled out several chicken breasts deciding to cook more than I needed so I could store it for my dinner this week as it was rare for me to have a proper meal. I then pulled out several vegetables to go as a nice side with the chicken. I began humming quietly as I peeled and chopped up potatoes and then placed them in a pot of boiling water to cook them.
I got to work on cutting up the mixture of vegetables and slipped in surprise, barely missing my fingers when there was a loud bashing sound coming from the other side of my front door. I frowned and looked at the time seeing it was only half past four and couldn't be Beau so I grabbed the large knife I had been previously using as a form of protection. Slowly I crept over to the door, taking a quick glance in the peep hole only to see three hooded figures standing on the other side. My heart began to race and another round of loud bashing came, making me let out a small scream. Instantly the bashing stopped and a voice called out from the other side.
"Aubrey! It's me Beau! Open up."
Letting out a shaky sigh I hide the knife behind my back and slowly opened the door and bit my lip nervously when I realised Beau wasn't alone. He gave me a friendly smile and stepped forward to hug me while offering an explanation as to why he wasn't alone.
"Hey Aubrey I hope you don't mind the boys-what are you doing with a knife?"
I smiled nervously and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear while looking up at him and offering my stupid answer.
"Uh-uh for protection?" I mumbled while looking down at my socks.
"You look ridiculous like a kitten who thinks it's a tiger, you wouldn't have even known what to do with that thing." Mocked Hunter, finally making his presence known in my front door way.
"Um I don't mean to be rude but can we come in?" Axel asked while scratching the back of his neck nervously.
"Oh sure, sorry" I muttered and stepped out of the way for them all to come inside.
I closed and locked the door behind them and placed the knife back down with the vegetables on the chopping board before turning to face them with my arms folded across my chest.
"Nice outfit" Smirked Hunter while making his way to my couch and plonking down on it like he owned the place.
My cheeks instantly got pink when I realised I was just wearing an oversized sweater with short booty shorts and my fluffy socks. My hair was also falling out of its messy bun I had hastily thrown it up into. I shot him a dirty look before excusing myself and running to my room to put on a pair of leggings and to fix my hair into a slicked back pony tail. Upon re-entering the open living area, I found the boys spread between the couch and kitchen, examining all aspects of my house.
