Family Dinner*gone wrong* (Chapter 35)

Danielle POV

As I put my earrings on, I start to get nervous. What if this dinner goes wrong. What if my parents and Hayes parents get mad and split us up. I'm stressing so much right now I could eat a cow with some chocolate syrup. Ugh stupid food cravings. Ok, I'm just overthinking it. I gotta think about the positive. What if there is no positive.

Hayes-Hey babe, you ok?

Danielle-Y-ya just nervous

Hayes-Don't be, everything is gonna be fine.

How is he so calm. He doesn't know what I'm going through. Does he have to carry a baby for The next 8 months. But then again he might be the best father in the world. Ok, my mood swings are getting me confused. I just need to relax and calm down.

Hayes-Yes, please do

Danielle-Do what?

Hayes-Relax, and calm down. You'll be fine. Stop stressing, it's not good for you or the baby

Danielle-Alright.

I sit down and take a deep breath in and out. I close my eyes and smile. I feel calm now. Then the door bell rings and I freak out again

Danielle-Oh no there here, how do I look, do I look pregnant? Is this dress ok? Does it show my stomach? How's my hair?

Hayes just rolls his eyes and goes downstairs to answer the door. Ok Danielle, your about to go down to the danger zone and you need to act cool. Just be yourself and when the time is right, you'll tell them.

Oh who am I kidding, my hormones are everywhere and I can't think straight. God help me. As I panic they all call me downstairs. I better make it out alive.

I put on my killer sweet smile and walk calmly downstairs. They smile at me and I wave. Ok keep it cool.......keep it cool.

Danielle-Hey mom, hey dad. Hello Ms and Mr.Grier

Parents-Hello Danielle

Hayes-How about we get onto dinner

Hm-Sure

We all walk into the dining room and have a seat. The plates and food is already set out. Hayes helped me make it earlier. Me and Hayes sit together while our parents are in front of us. Keep it cool Danielle, do not mess up

Dm-So how have you been hun, haven't seen you in a while

Danielle-Oh I've been ok, I've been better though

Dd-How are you son, still doing sports?

Hayes-Yes sir, I've been playing basketball lately

Hd-That's good to hear. The team this season has been slacking lately

Dd-Oh tell me about it, it's the new coach that got them slacking

Hd-Yes indeed it is

Ok so the dads have got onto a conversation about basketball teams. I'll just try and talk to the moms

Hm-Dani dear, can I address something real quick

Danielle-Sure

Hm-is it just me or have you gotten a little....bigger since the last time I saw you

Dm-Yes I was about to say that also. You have gain a little weight.

I nervously laugh and scratch my head not knowing what to say. Ugh I can feel the scared feeling rushing through my body

Danielle-You know what how about we eat

I say and everyone agrees. We all share out our food and dig in. While eating the parents talk to each other. I look at Hayes and he gives me a thumbs up. I smile and we all finish our meal. We then clean up and wash our plates. The parents head to living and Hayes helps me pack out the dishes

Hayes-That went well

Danielle-Ya the dinner part. Now we have to tell them. And I'm freaking out

Hayes-Don't worry just pray they won't be mad. we just need to find the right moment to tell them

Danielle-Oh my god, my heart is beating. The right moment is where I'm gonna freak out and faint.

Hayes-Please stop stressing babe

He gives me a quick kiss and heads to the living room. I stand there and sigh. I then look at the clock at its 7:30. They leave at 9. Ugh can't time go any faster. I then breathe in and out and walk to the living room. I sit beside my mom and she smiles at me. I smile back and listen to everyone talk

(Later On)

I look at the time and it's 8:50. 10 mins left. We haven't told them yet. My foot is tapping against the ground and I'm nervous. Hayes looks at me and gives me a signal saying we're gonna tell them now. I gave him a worried look and he mouths to me saying to "calm down". I nod, here goes the danger zone

Hayes-Uh guys, Danielle and I have some important news

He then looks at me giving the look to tell them. I'm feeling scared. My hands are sweating. Why am I so god damn nervous. I try and look for something to say

Danielle-Uh, I'm..........gonna be in the new step up movie

They all cheer and congratulate me. Hayes then gives me a stern look

Hayes-Not that news.......the other news

He gives me a stern look and I know I have to tell them now

Danielle-Uh ok, guys I'm..................... pregnant

When I say that they all look shocked. I knew this was a bad idea. Hayes parents looked worried yet happy.  My father, well he looks stricked and taken back. But then all of a sudden my mother falls to the ground. We all rush to her, my dad checks her and just sighs.

Dd-She just fainted, she's gonna be alright.

Hd-I think we should leave

Dd-Agreed

Hm-Well goodnight y'all. Thanks for dinner. And Danielle congrats

She says a little uneasy. They leave and I break down. I knew this was a bad idea. I should have never told them.

Hayes-Shhhhhh, it's ok. They will come around

Hayes says pulling me close to him. He rubs my back as I cry on his shoulder
