"thank you sweetie, I'm so sorry..." He said quietly on the other side of the glass
"It's okay dad...I know you were just drunk that night...It's...Okay...And you don't have to keep on repeating yourself...It's fine" I said looking at him as I spoke "your welcome too, I know you like macaroni soup..."
He smiled at me warmly, I smiled back.
"Time's up ma'am, time to go" the guard said to me
"Oh..Um..Okay" I answered standing up from the seat "bye dad..." I gave him a small wave
"Bye honey.." he managed to say as he was being dragged away to his cell

I walked through the doors of the school, being greeted by a crowd of students. I squeezed in between them as they moved, this school was starting to get cramped. I finally reached my locker when Oliver Clyde walked up to me
"Hey Mia, where have you been? I've been looking for you!" He greeted as he leaned against the lockers
"I was visiting my dad, why, is there a problem Oliver?" I said rolling my eyes "were you worried about me again?"
He furrowed his brows together " of course I was, I mean, I didn't know where you were!" He explained shooting his arms up
"Okay, okay, stop worrying about me, I'm not a baby!" I said crossing my arms around my chest "come one we're late for class"

Class was normal as usual, the same old teacher lecturing us for what we didn't do, us falling into a deep slumber, and not caring at all of what they were teaching. We only listened to them if exams were coming close.
"Class dismissed, and don't forget we have a quiz next Thursday about the Victorian era" Mrs. Palthrow exclaimed
We all groaned in annoyance, we all didn't like quizzes, it was always dreadful for she would always make it hard for us. All of us headed for the door and walked in a messed up order.
The hallway was filled with gossiping students, who judged the people walking by, and create mass rumors for fun. Those people were the stuck up, bitchy snobs of this place. I would know, cause I was one of their pawns in their little chess game.
When they heard about my dad, they started to make fun of how much of a murderer he is. I was constantly a conversation piece between people, who didn't know what to talk about. Luckily, rumors die down and get forgotten easily. Finally I was free.
My thoughts were interupted by a hand that grabbed my shoulder, "hey, Mia. You look deep in thought, what's wrong?" A voice said
I looked behind to find Oliver looking at me with his dark brown eyes
"No, nothing's wrong, it's just that I was thinking about the time I was gossiped about, that's all" I said giving him a smile
Oliver was like a big brother to me, even though we were the same age. He would always make sure that I would be safe and unharmed all the time, I appreciate it, but it can be a little too much.
"Well, ok then" he said putting his hands in his pockets " wanna go out and get some ice-cream?"
"Sure, let me just put my books in my locker, then we'll head to the ice-cream parlour, then go home" I replied, planning everything ahead
"Sure, I just really wanted to go for ice-cream, I'm craving for some" he said rubbing his belly " let's go!!"
He grabbed my wrist and pulled me with him. He walked with his arm out in front of him and his hands in a fist. He was trying to impersonate Super-man. He kept this up until we reached his car.
"Why did you have to that?" I asked with an amused smile on my face
"What do you mean?" He asked confused
"The Super-man thing you were doing while we walked all the way over here" I said with a light chuckle in my tone as I crossed my arms
"Oh that, thought that it would make you smile. Since you looked so gloomy earlier" he explained laughing
Typical Oliver.
