For a few seconds, Maddox remained idle, staring blankly at the screen, his heartbeats racing inside his chest which tightened as he breathed heavily. His eyes did not even blink once. They remained glued to the screen. Horrified.

"How am I to live without you, Angel? Please come back my friend."

Those were the words written on Deborah's wall, the words which made the young boy gasp as his body froze momentarily.

Without giving it a second thought, Maddox sent a message to Deborah, "Hey what's wrong with Angelica? What happened to her?"

No reply.

He checked Deborah's wall once more and read the words stuck there over and over again. He fought against his mind to keep the negative thoughts aside, praying for Deborah to come online soon and for her to reply his message the soonest possible because as more time went by, his fear grew bigger, fuelled by uncertainty.

Maddox had no other means to contact Deborah. It was only the beginning of the week and the next weekend was still four days away. Waiting for Saturday to meet Deborah at the park was a too long wait which Maddox could not afford.

Suddenly, he remembered that Angelica was also on Facebook. The day he created his 'Mad Cow' account, he had sent a friend request to his blonde friend along with the one he sent to Deborah. But Angelica had not accepted his friend request yet. So, he decided to go to her profile and send her a message which she might reply.

"But where is her profile gone?" Maddox asked himself, as he felt his panic level inflate. He could no more find Angelica's Facebook profile. There were only two explanations to this. It might be that Angelica deleted her account from the social network or, the worse case was that she blocked Maddox to prevent him from viewing her Facebook account.

"I hope she did not block me. But... but why would she do that?" he muttered. "Oh no! Is it that she is furious at me for having punched her dad's face?"

As Maddox was getting ready to go to school, he was constantly checking his laptop to see whether there was any reply from Deborah, but in vain.

I hope there's nothing wrong with Angel.

He kept worrying about his blonde friend the whole day and impatiently waited for the school hours to get over so that he may return home to check on his Facebook inbox. Unlike other boys of his age, Maddox did not have a smartphone. He did not even have a mobile phone. So, he imperatively had to return home to have access to the internet.

"Hey? Who are you actually?" was the message Maddox got as a reply to his earlier question.

"A question for a question?" he typed. "Just tell me what happened to your friend!" Maddox was restless and he desperately wanted to have news of Angelica.

"But who are you? And why are you so worried about my friend?" Deborah asked.

Although the young boy intended to tell her that he was the one behind the fake and weird name 'Mad Cow', at that particular moment, he hesitated to tell her the truth.

Maddox: "Well, I just saw a message that you wrote on your wall and it seemed like something was wrong with your friend. That's why I asked."

Deborah: "But it seems like you know my friend."

Maddox: "Uh, no, I don't know her."
