You were in the dining hall, sitting next to Draco and Crabbe. You were talking about trying out for being the Slytherin Quidditch seeker for next year. Dumbledore tapped on a glass, causing people to stop talking and turn their attention towards him. "Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great first year!" Everyone cheered and clapped. "We would like to congratulate Miss y/l/n, on making next year's Slytherin seeker, and Mister Potter for Gryffindor first year seeker!" Dumbledore says. Slytherin and Gryffindor cheer. You and Harry looked at each other from across the dining hall, giving each other smirks. You stuck your tongue out at him, making him chuckle at your childish acts.

"Some of you will be staying here for the summer," he starts again. "but some of you will be going back to your parental guardians until your second year of attending Hogwarts!" You froze and your face turned pale. Everyone clapped and cheered, except for you and a few others who simply just smiled. Tears started to form in your eyes as you remember the moments you had with your parents. You remembered how they treated you and how they would talk to you. You were terrified of going back. You couldn't stay at Hogwarts unless your parents or your parental guardians were simply unavailable to keep watch of you. A hot tear rolled down your face. Draco noticed. "Hey," he said, putting his small hand on your back. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" he asked with a concerned voice. "I-I can't go back. I j-just-" tears started to roll down your face as you tried to speak. Draco pulled you into a tight hug and shushed you. He rubbed small circles on your back, trying to comfort you. "It's okay, y/n. It's okay. If you need me over the summer, just owl me, and my parents will understand and let you stay with us if you really need to." he said. You looked up. "R-really?" you said. "Of course," he replied with a smile. "Th-thank you, Draco," you said and wrapped your arms tightly around him. Harry saw this and scoffed. "The people who will be going home will be leaving tomorrow after breakfast in the dining hall. All classes are canceled tomorrow." Dumbledore said, finishing his speech. You wiped your eyes and lied your head on Draco's shoulder. "Let's head to class now, shall we?" Draco said. "Okay," you smiled up at him.

Draco walked you to every one of your classes, making sure you were okay. You were both very young still, but he still understood what you must be feeling. Your last class had ended and you headed to the dining hall for dinner.

 Draco's POV

Merlin, she must feel terrified. I can't imagine going home to people like her parents. I mean, I'm also a pure-blood and my parents push me hard, but they don't physically abuse me. It's more like mentally, and it's just my father. I wanted to be there for y/n as much as I could before she left. I walked in the dining hall and saw y/n sitting at the Slytherin table already, but looking unusually pale and drifted away from reality. She almost looked like she did the day I had first seen her on the train to Hogwarts. "Hey," Crabbe said. "What," I said irritated. "I think y/n really needs your comfort right now," I looked over and saw tears rolling down her face. But, she was so still. She didn't move an inch.

Draco quickly walked over to her and laid a hand on your shoulder. "Hey, y/n," Draco said, very gently shaking your shoulder. You snapped out of your gaze and looked at Draco. You wiped your eyes quickly. "Hey, sorry. I don't know what happened," you said. "I'm not really hungry right now. I'm going to sleep early tonight. We're leaving to go home tomorrow anyways, I guess," You said, moving a hand through your hair. "I'll see you tomorrow," you said to Draco. You hugged him and walked off to your room.

Y/n's POV - I'm terrified. I don't want to go back home. It didn't even feel like a home to me. It felt like a prison. It felt like Azkaban or, what I imagine Azkaban would feel like.

You barely slept and felt exhausted the next day. You couldn't stop thinking about what would happen if you went back. When you walked into the dining hall, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco looked at you. You were extremely pale and you had dark circles around your eyes. You sat next to Draco. "Hey, it'll be okay, y/n," Draco said, putting an arm around you to comfort you. You smiled up at him. "Thanks," you said and started eating.

You and Draco said your goodbyes and soon left to go to Hogwarts express, sitting in the same cart. "Thank you, Draco," you said as you sat next to him. He looked at you with a confused look. "For what?" "Being here for me. Being my best friend. No matter what happens, never stop being my best friend. Okay?" You said, turning your head from the window to look at Draco. "Of course. Same goes for you," He said with a slight smile. You smiled back and laid your head on the window.

Draco woke you up. "Y/n, y/n. We're here," Draco said. Anxiety filled your stomach. You got up and grabbed your stuff. Before you walked out of the train, you hugged Draco and said your goodbyes. "Owl me sometimes, yea?" He asked. "Only if you do the same." "Deal" You walked out of the train and saw your parents. They looked around to find you. You made eye contact and walked towards them. "Welcome home."
