Chapter 11

Setting: Hospital , Afternoon

It was silent killer. The drugs aren't all that is killing your mind. It's your well being, the way  you walk or talk, it changed you , but you were still you on the outside.

5:50 p.m.

Lauryn's PV

It was haunting envoirment to be around, the hospital was quiet, too quiet. All you can hear was the annoying beeping sounds of the machines, that were use to keep people alive. At least for now. It was cold, not like a chilly breeze on a warm summer day, on the beach. My goosebumps were starting to show, and those goosebumps were forming more .

As I sat in a plastic blue hospital chair, I started to shiver from the cold, it's nagging telling me it's my fault, all my fault only. I could have stopped her from continuing, but I didn't. It was punishing me, or that it could it been me sitting under a vent , that I wasn't aware of.

"You okay ?"

A familiar voice said worriedly.

I looked up, it was Keith standing tall ,over me.

I didn't say anything , I looked the other way, to avoid him. Instead, he sat down next to a combing chair that was connected to mine. I felt his warmth creep up on me. I didn't want to , but it was very welcoming.

"Lauryn, look I know that your feeling alot shit right now , but if you need anything -"

 I mimicked him,"Just know I am here for you ."

His face, was frozen.

"I heard it before , I don't need you here. "

I said while rubbing my shoulders, to keep warmth. "Lauryn, I-I am sorry ."

His voice broken, while pronouncing those words. He slowly rapped his arms around me, pulling himself closer to me.

It felt.

Comforting.

Soothing.

Protected.

I looked up at him, and he's eyes locked on to mine.

"I don't believe you."

"Believe it, cause I'd never wanted to hurt you."

I laughed, I careless wiped my tears, that were forming, which I don't why.

"That's a lie, you were only thinking about yourself."

He chuckled, showing is very sexy smile, that I couldn't admit to out loud. "I still missed you, Lauryn, I always did."

Those very words broke me, I wanted to believe that he did, but all those girls, all those times he could have picked up a phone and try to contact me.  We were so close to each other,  our bodies could have emerged and become one.

I forgot how I felt in his arms, when I was little. The protection he gave me, when I needed. The brother and sister love, I wanted. And just like that I forgot why I was sad, why I was blaming myself for something I didn't have control over.

"Wow, you guys are pretty close."

Amber said bluntly.

I quickly got up from the chair, leaving Keith by himself on the chair. I was completely blindsided, by Amber.

"We were just-"

"Talking ?", Amber finished.

As Amber walked over to Keith , she gave me strange look, she then sat next to him. "You okay ?" Keith said.

"Yeah ,thanks to you I am fine." She swiftly placed her head on his shoulder​. A urge came over me, I wanted to snatch her head off his shoulder, so bad in that moment.

Keith looked over at me, and saw my facial expression. I guess he noticed that I was getting pissed, he pulled out his phone and noticed the time ," Listen, I gotta go  get ready for  this party tonight, so I'll see y'all there."

He got up from the chair, while Amber moved her head from his shoulder, "And sorry for your friend,I hope she gets better."

"But how will we know the where the party is at ?" I questioned.

 "Ill text Amber the location, see y'all tonight."

As he left , I looked over at Amber, it was an awkward silence. Then , she finally broke it, " Lauryn, you should go see Ryan."

I shook my head, "I am not really good at these things."

She got up from the seat, and held both of my arms, and smiled,"Lauryn, she's our best friend, she would appreciate if you at least went to see her."

I felt what Amber was saying , but why did it feel like the word "best friend", wasn't what I was being.

Hey guys, so this chapter was kinda short or longish, but yeah I'll continue more on  the next chapter, I just needed to give Lauryn confrontation towards Keith.
