ethan's pov:
i woke up to a familiar feeling that i did not miss: a cold, empty bed. i pouted to myself as i rubbed my eyes sleepily.
i crawled out of the bed, groaning and rubbing my face as i realized today was my parents' anniversary party.
i could already hear people downstairs and i glanced over at my clock that read 11:47. the party's not supposed to start until 1?
i walked over to the bathroom next to my room. the door was shut, but i could see light shining from under the door.
"princess?" i knocked on the door lightly before it opened slowly.
elle was wearing a simple but beautiful long dress. it was a pale pink color that suited her. she sent a quick smile my way before turning back to the mirror.
"morning." her voice was so soft and sweet.
"morning, baby." i smirk, wrapping my arms around her from the back.
she was putting on mascara, finishing up her natural looking makeup. although, i think she doesn't need it.
i move her hair to one side as i press a quick kiss on her skin.
"ethan?" she softly grabs my attention, making me hum and wait for her to speak.
"i'm nervous."
"why?" i furrow my eyebrows as i pull her closer to me.
"you're whole family already hates me."
"no one hates you, elle. my mom just doesn't know how to keep her comments to herself." i shrug.
she rolls her eyes playfully before wrapping her arms around my neck.
"you're so beautiful." i smile down at her, making her cheeks turn a crimson color.
she bites her bottom lip, trying not to smile, as her petite hands rest on my chest. i chuckle, kissing her forehead as she wraps her arms around me.
"wait!" she pulls away quickly, "you need to get ready."
i groan loudly, making her giggle as she pushes me out of the bathroom to find something to wear.
i pull out the ripped jeans and black button up that i brought and went back to the bathroom.
elle ran her fingers through her hair as she stood in front of the mirror. i walked in with my clothes and shut the door behind me.
"you could've changed in there." she giggled as i took off my grey sweatpants.
"i'm doing just fine right here, princess."
i slipped on my jeans before slipping on the thin black button up. elle smiles before walking over to me, buttoning up each one.
"you look so nice." she smiles widely, her hands resting on my chest, smoothing out the thin material.
"i'll be right back." she says after she fixes the collar.
i nod as she leaves the bathroom, leaving me alone. i run my hands through my hair, making it look less messy.
elle comes back, wearing black flats that you could barely see under the dress, and watches me fix my hair.
i rest my hand on her back as i pass by her, walking into my room. i slip on black vans before grabbing her hand and leading her downstairs.
my mom and dad were in the backyard sitting with a few of my family members. grayson was wandering around downstairs while he talked on the phone.
i decide to just go outside and elle and i take a seat at an empty table.
her soft, delicate fingers play with my hands and trace my tattoos out of boredom, making me smile at how precious she is.
