Hey guys!

This is my first Jily fan fiction, but it is something I'm very passionate about. I'll try to update as often as I possibly can so I can keep this story rolling. I hope you enjoy chapter one! Please leave comments for my benefit. Thanks!

Btw: I own none of the characters, plot, idea, etc. This all belongs to JKR.
Also, the cover fan art isn't mine either. If it's yours, let me know so I can give you credit!

Lily
Lily Evans laid in her backyard outside of her home in Cokeworth. It was a beautiful day. Not one cloud seemed to pepper the clear sky. Lily was positioned with her back in the warm grass, spreading her auburn hair around her head like a halo. She breathed in the fresh air and let the rays of the summer sun calm her.

Lily spent as much time as she could outside in the fresh air, nowadays, because she needed to calm down more often than usual. Life in her home hadn't been easy on her the past few weeks. Petunia, Lily's older sister, hadn't been able to stand being in the same room as her. The idea of being that close to a "freak" was apparently just too much for her.

When Lily had returned home from her 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she had found her family more split than ever. Her parents, who love both of their daughters equally, had decided to let the girls sort out their own issues themselves. This hadn't worked out at all because the only words Petunia had shared with Lily have been warnings for her to stay out of the way.

So, Lily spent her days locked in her room, out in town, or there, laying in the sun. Lily was aware that she only had a few more minutes to lay there. In around ten minutes, Vernon, Petunia's bulldog of a boyfriend, would be arriving.

Lily had already been warned last night.

"If you are anywhere near this house when my Vernon is here, I will make sure that it is the last thing that your freakish self will ever do."

There was that word again. Freakish. It seemed nowadays she was a freak in both the muggle world and the wizarding world.

Petunia had woken Lily in the middle of the night to deliver the message. It had left Lily with a heartache that had hurt beyond compare. She yearned for her relationship with Petunia to be as it used to be. Lily still loved her. She didn't know if the feeling was mutual any longer, though.

Lily stayed in the warm sun for another five minutes. She stood up with a stretch and began to venture into her house. She only had a few minutes left to decide if she was going to stay in her room and keep quite or to leave the house. Lily bounded up the steps and into her little bedroom at the end of the hall.

The room had been painted a pale yellow, but covered with posters and signs. Lily had covered the walls with Gryffindor themed items, band posters, and moving pictures of her and her friends. Petunia usually avoided Lily's room; the moving pictures on the wall bothered her to no end.

Lily had only sat down on her bed when she heard the doorbell ring. I guess I'm stuck inside today, she thought gloomily. She should have timed it out better. She knew she could always apparate out, but she would surely hear about it from Petunia later after the loud "crack" apparating leaves behind echoes through the entire house.

Lily settled into her bed and stared at the ceiling. After a few minutes of boredom, however, a tap was heard on Lily's window. A normal girl would have been frightened to hear tapping on her window, but Lily had never been normal.
