Hello everyone!
I'm back with chapter two and I'm so excited!
All of this belongs to the wonderful JKR!
Enjoy!James
James sat in his bedroom staring out of the window. He had been distracted ever since he had sent the invite to Lily. Part of him expected she wouldn't even respond. The other part hoped and hoped.Stop it James. You are over her. You know that, he thought.
But are you? he countered himself.
Last year, he had made an oath to himself that he would move on from Lily Evans and look for other girls. He had dated other girls before, but only in an attempt to make Evans jealous. Sadly, this had never worked because the way he felt about her was never mutual between them. Moving on from a girl who never liked you, let alone cared about you, should be quite easy, but it wasn't.
"Ughhhh," he groaned. He rolled onto his bed and shoved his pillow into his face.
"Bad time?" a familiar voice asked. James looked up from his pillow to see a smirking Sirius Black standing in the door way. "Evans got your knickers in a twist again?"
Sirius was, according to the girls at Hogwarts, one of the best looking guys at school. The only other slot in that category was filled by James himself. Sirius' black hair was grown out longer, but always seemed sleek and in the right position. Girls giggled about his handsome face and gorgeous eyes as they passed him in the halls. Although all of the girls seemed to stare and ogle over him, Sirius never seemed genuinely interested in any of them.
"Why do you assume it is only Lily Evans that can get my knickers in a twist? Especially when you can do it just as easily. Oh, and have you ever heard of knocking, Padfoot?" James stood up from his bed, adjusted his glasses, and ran a hand through his already messy black hair.
"Ah, see only Evans can make you so emotional. That's how I knew. And I stopped knocking when I became part of your family. I technically shouldn't have to knock in my own house," he added. Sirius practically beamed at his own words. Last year, he had fled from his strict and heartless pureblood Slytherin family. The Potters had taken him in, so he had become an unofficial official member of the family. Although Sirius could be a pain at times, James loved his best friend like a brother and loved having him in the house.
James followed Sirius out of his bedroom, through the hall, down the steps, and into the living room. The room was vast and filled with cozy couches, a stone fireplace, and plush carpets. A group of teenagers lounged all over these couches. Peter and Remus were playing wizard chess by the fire (Remus was winning), Mar and Mary were talking and giggling on the couch, and Julie was laying on the carpet.
James had conveniently forgot to mention Julie being at his home in his letter to Lily. Julie was going to be a Gryffindor 6th year that year. James had not originally invited her to hang out at his place. It had just happened that her family line was a pureblood family who shared connections with the Potters, so James' father had suggested that they get to know each other a little better.
Upon meeting Julie, James had instantly noticed that she was practically the opposite of Lily. In his attempt to try to get Lily out of his brain, he did everything he could to try and get close to Julie. He may or may not have made it seem like he was trying to make them an official thing. Oops. So, now he was stuck.
No one out of all of his friends seemed to actually like Julie. She could be clingy and self-centered at best with a strictly pureblood look on things. Some of her comments were cruel and heartless. Being around her was pure torture.
