"Hailey come down stairs!"

"I'm coming mum!" I yell, lifting my a million kilos of clothes in a bag. I quickly reach for my SnapBack and place it on my head, re-gripping my bag. It didn't help that I had a carry-on bag on my back, more weight.

"Phil, do you want to help your daughter," my mum sighs.

"I think I got it mum," I say walking out the door. I throw my suitcase into the trunk and pull my phone out from my jeans pocket. I see a text from Audrey saying she was ready so I ran back inside.

"I'm saying goodbye to Audrey so I'll be back in like ten minutes," I call. Today was the day I had to leave my perfect life to go to Louisiana, ugh why does my dad have to choose these types of jobs. I already know that we are most likely going to move again once I get settled in Louisiana. I just want to stay in New Jersey.

I arrive at Audrey's doorstep and let myself inside. I run to her room and jump onto her bed. "I'm gonna miss you so much!" I yell, squeezing her little body. "Remember you are going to call me as soon as you get there, and we are going to-"

"FaceTime every night," I finish her sentence. "Yes!" She hugs me back. "When's your flight?" She asks. I look at the time on my phone and sigh, "we have to leave for the airport in five minutes." She squeezes me once more and stands up.

"Come on, one last selfie," she laughs. I giggle and nod, she pulls out her phone and holds down on the photo taking button. We laugh and she throws her phone on her bed.

"I'll miss you so much," she pouts. My eyes start to water and I spread my arms out for her to hug me. She cries into my black crop top and tears start escaping my eyes. We slowly part and I weakly smile. "I love you Audrey," I say softly. "I love you too Hails," she grabs my hand and runs out of her house with me. We run to my car and she pushes me in the middle seat. One of the window seats have bags piled so Audrey squishes on the free seat next to me. She closes the door and mum gives us a grin.

"As much as I'd like you to come Audrey, we're going to miss the flight if you don't leave now," Mum gives her a small smile. "Okay, I'll miss you all!" She hugs everyone once more and says, "I love you!" I say it back and she closes the door. I feel my eyes water again when she walks off. I distract my self by listening to music, "Pour it up- Grimes the dead remix." I bop my head to the beat and it pushes back my tears. We lived pretty close to the airport so I only listened to three songs.

As we pulled into a parking bay, I unplugged my earphones and put them in my carry on bag. I was slightly shaking because I've never been on a plane before. I tried to ignore it and helped get the bags. Two men in uniforms collected the suitcases and walked us inside. We did what you would usually do at an airport and waited for our flight. We had a few minuets so I went to the bathroom so I could avoid going on the plane. Once I finished my business, I walked out to where my parents were sitting and our flight was called.

"Flight 22 to Louisiana," came from the speaker. We double checked that we had everything and got our seats on the plane. My parents sat next to each other, leaving me by myself two rows behind them. A flight attendant checked all the rows and since I was the second from the back, I was one of the lasts. "Excuse me ma'am, have any gentlemen came to these rows yet?" I shook my head. Great, I have to sit next to a guy.. notice my sarcasm. I lean against the window and look out the window. I can see someone out the corner of my eye sit besides me, I turn and see a slim, tall, and quiet pale figure sitting.

"Hey," he smiles at me. "Hi," I give him a short reply.

"I'm Aaron," he holds out his hand. "Hailey?" I shake his hand, what a weird guy. "How old are you?" he's looking at me so I'm assuming he's talking to me. "Uhm, sixteen," I look at him then out the window. "Oh cool, I'm turning seventeen on October 5th." "My birthday is October 8th," I laugh, I guess I could get used to him. He was pretty attractive and has sweet hazel eyes. "I like your eyes," I blurt out.

He chuckles, "thank you, they're so boring. I want your eye colour!" He says looking into my eyes. I realised I lifted my head off the window and now our faces are pretty close. "I don't like my eye colour," I roll my eyes, leaning back in my chair.

"Why not?" He slightly laughs. "I don't know.. They look weird," I shrug. He gives me a weird look and says, "well I think they're beautiful," he smiles. I feel my cheeks and I look back out the window.

"Passengers please fasten your seat belts for takeoff."

I feel my hands shake and my heart beat fast. Adrenaline kicks in and I get pull the seatbelt over me.

"Have you been on a plane before?" He clicks his seatbelt into his buckle. "No, to be honest I'm scared," I say being honest.

"It's not as bad as it sounds," he gives me a reassuring smile. I nod and lean back in my chair. "Here," he hands me a piece of gum. "What's this for?" I slightly laugh. "I don't know, it supposed to avoid popping your ears I think." I take it and put it in my mouth. The plane takes off and I chew the gum Aaron gave me, why is he being so nice?

"Did it work?" He asks. I nod and thank him, I pull my phone and earphones out of my bag and scroll through my playlist. I have my phone in one hand and my earphones in the other. I put on in my right ear, so I if I need to lean on the window my left ear doesn't have a earphone digging in. I choose the song "Waves by Deon Lewis."

"Mind if I listen?" He smiles. I shake my head and put the left earphone in his hand. "Hope you don't mind my kind of music."

"So far so good," he winks. I smile and start to get sleepy. I couldn't lean on the window because the earphones wouldn't be in both of our ears so I tried to sleep straight. He notices my troubles and puts his head on my shoulder. I lean my head on his and I get comfy, I think I'm falling for a guy I barely know.
