ZAC'S POV
It's another day with a long morning practice. We have to get into shape before the first game of the season against Los Angelos Gator. After three hours of practicing, I go, quickly jump in the shower, get dressed and go to the on campus coffee shop because I desperately need coffee to get through a long day of classes.
I wait in line for about ten minutes because some blonde girl has been arguing with the cashier because she doesn't have enough money to pay for her drink. As I wait, I feel my phone vibrate with a text. I look down to see it's Ali. A smile forms on my face just seeing her name on my phone. It's so hard trying to only be friends with this girl, but that's what she wants.
The message says, "Hey Zac! By any miraculous chance, are you at the coffee shop? If you are, PLEASE get me a large coffee. I'll love you forever!"
I reply saying, "You mean you already don't love me forever? ;) Luckily, I'm here and I'll be nice enough to get it for you."
When I look up from my phone, the blonde girl didn't move yet. I look down at my watch and see that I have fifteen minutes to get mine and Ali's coffee and get to the other side of campus. I dig into my wallet and pull out five dollars and place it on the counter.
"Here, and keep the change." I say as I look at the worker. My eyes then go to the blonde girl and I see a smile form on her face.
"Wow. Thanks." she says, not once taking her eyes off of my face.
"No problem. For further preference, bring extra money." I say with a smirk.
"I will keep that in mind." she says with a small laugh. "I'm Alex."
"Zac." I say before I turn my attention back to the cashier. "I'll have two large coffees and a coffee cake."
"I see you take it easy on your coffee." Alex says sarcastically.
"What can I say football is tiring." I say with a smirk as I pay and get my order. "I gotta go. See you around."
"Yeah, see you." she replies with a sweet smile. I can't help but smile back.
Alex is pretty hot. She has a cute face, a nice body, and a sexy smile. Still, she isn't sexier than Ali.
When I get to class, I see Ali sitting at a table with an empty seat next to her.
"Oh my God, I love you. I barely slept last night because of studying." Ali says with a smile.
"Studying?" I say with a smirk as I hand her her coffee and coffee cake.
"Okay, I was having a movie marathon with Aria and Alex." she say as she sips her coffee.
"Hm...I thought so. Oh by the way, did you say Alex?"
"Yeah, she's my roommate. Why?"
"No reason." I say with a smirk.
"Okay? You're weird." she says with a smile.
"Be nice. I got you coffee." I remind her.
"Yeah yeah yeah." she says with a small laugh.
The teacher finally walks in and class begins. I can barely keep my eyes open. I begin to fall asleep and Alex's face from this morning comes back to my mind until Ali's voice wakes me up when class is over.
