Gabrielle Lupin (Remus Lupin's Daughter) Book Two

The tension since the champion selection is just awful, no one is talking to Harry not even Ron. I finish up in the library and I go to the common room finding Harry sat in the corner reading a book as everyone else get on with their lives like there isn't anyone sat in the corner of the room alone.

"Hey" I smile taking a seat opposite him

"Hi" He smiles back

"Have you figured out the first task?"

"No"

"Lucky you didn't get put into Ravenclaw cause you're really not that clever"

"What do you mean?" He asks looking at me now confused

"Didn't you think to look in the library to find some books about past tournaments?"

"Of course why didn't I think of that"

"Because you're not a Ravenclaw" I chuckle "Anyway I did, all the past tasks I've read about the first task have always been retrieving something. Obviously it isn't that easy but the main aim is to retrieve something without getting injured, killed or disqualified"

"Do you think the first task will be that then?"

"Most likely, I doubt it would change this time round"

"What about the other two tasks?"

"They change every year so its no point in studying them unless you figure it out and it's a task that's been done before which I highly doubt"

"Highly doubt it'll be a repeat or I won't figure it out?"

"Both" I smirk

First Task

Me and Lucy get to the location where the first task is taking place. The twins are taking bets, of course they are why wouldn't they be? Turns out I was correct and they have to retrieve an item, a golden egg, which looks easy until a bloody dragon appears guarding it.

"COME ON HARRY" I yell along with everyone else.

Time Skip

"Ron, get here right now!" I demand

He sighs and lean against the wall next to me

"You need to stop being an idiot and make up with Harry. He didn't put his name in the goblet or even know how his name got there. Your his best friend and he needs you, what if this was you? If it was you would you want Harry to support and help you or to ignore you"

"Be there for me"

"Exactly so why aren't you being there for him?"

He doesn't respond so I grab his arm and drag him to the common room which is having a party in celebration of Harry doing so well today. Funny how he does good and suddenly everyone is his friend again.

Few Days Later

I leave the great hall and make my way to potions, as soon as I get in the class I throw my bag under my desk and take a seat hiding my head in my arms on the desk.

"Gabbi? What's wrong?" Severus asks

"Nothing"

"Professor Lupin hasn't replied her letters" Lucy answers

"Perhaps he's busy"

"I've sent an owl every week since the start of October. I guess I'll be signing to stay here for Christmas" I finally speak but keeping my head hidden

"Stay behind after class Gabbi please" he speaks as everyone else walks into class

I finally look up and nod ok then the lesson begins. After the class is over I stay behind as told and Severus comes over and sits on the stool in front of my desk.

"So you've had no response huh?"

"Yeah, He's getting on my nerves. It's all about Sirius"

"I thought you liked Black, after all you did prove he's innocent"

"That was until he took Dad off me. All summer Dad has been with him and it's basically been who's Gabbi again? I don't know a Gabbi"

"I think you should Talk to him about it over Christmas break"

"I don't think so, I'm just going to stay here instead"

"No you won't your father is expecting you home for Christmas and if you're not on that train when it returns to London all hell will break loose"

"Fine, but hell will break loose if I go home anyway"

"20 sickles that it won't"

"30" I smirk

"Deal"

We shake on it and I leave the classroom, hope he's ready to hand over 30 sickles upon my arrival back to Hogwarts.
