Chapter 30

Merlock (Mermaidlock) - Part 9

Sherlock tugged gently on John's wrist as the royal guard approached the cave. John whimpered slightly as he heard several shrieks and screams.

"I won't ever let that creep hurt you again." Sherlock whispered comfortingly into John's ear. John nodded slowly. His mind was buzzing and his stomach felt so hollow.

Sherlock continued to stare into the blackness of the cave. The royal guard reappeared a few momments later, a trail of red misty water behind them. John scrunched his nose up in discust but Sherlock stayed still, gripping John's wrist.

"Sir, he's dead." Reported one officer who smiked kindly at the worried John.

"Good, return to the palace. Let my brother know that I am returning and I have some important matters to discuss with him." Sherlock ordered.

"Yes sir!" And the officer swam away.

John yawned and snaked his arm around Sherlock, resting his head on Sherlock's shoulder. Sherlock smiled and kissed his partner lightly on the forehead.

Sherlock swam back to his room, a sleeping John on his arm. He lay the almost completly healed boy into his clam.

Sherlock wondered, what is John's power? It isn't healing, that wad for sure. Talking to fish? No. Manipulation? Definatly not. Speed was out of the question. What if....yes! That made so much sence! Loyalty! This boy was extremely loyal and others were loyal to him. He had the power to befriend any one and be loyal till the end.

A rapping at the door snapped Sherlock from his thoughts.

"Come in." He called, carfull not to wake John.

Mycroft slid throught the door and leant against the end of the large clam.

"Who is this?" Mycroft questioned. "And why does he have your engagement shell around his neck?" He raised an eye brow.

"This is John. He is the boy I love and would like to marry." Sherlock stated.

Mycrost coughed and swallowed hard, attempting to process this information.

"Sherlock, you cannot do such a thing. You are to marry the princess."

"Yes, but I am not yet engaged to her. So instead I propsed to John."

Mycroft sighed. There was no way he could change his brother's mind.

"I shall speak to the princess and her father." Mycroft cleared his throat and left.

Sherlock smiled. He always won.

Three days passed and John had returned home. His parents were worred sick and his sister had returned too.

He didn't want to go into detail but he had to tell his parent something. So, he told them that he would be staying at a friends house for a while and he would visit every one once a week or so. It would work out fine. He could be with Sherlock and his parents wouldn't worry. Probably.

After packing a few things and showering John left for the cove once more.

When he arrived Sherlock was already waiting.

"Ready for the wedding?" He teased.

"You bet!" He laughed. John threw his backpack at Sherlock and jupped into the water. Sherlock slipped it on and embraced John lovingly.

"You ready?" He whispered.

"Go ahead." John closed his eyes amd leant into a soft kiss. Sherlock gladly accepted and kissed back. Sherlock slowly made his way down to John's neck and bit into his skin. John let out a small groan and pulled Sherlock closer.

Within seconds John's firey red tail had returned. He smiled and splashed Sherlock playfully. Sherlock laughed and duncked John under the water.

"You are bloody brilliant." John chuckled as he threw himself into Sherlock's arms.

"I know." Sherlock kissed his lover's hand. "Let's go."

They swam as fast as they could towards the palace. Outside stood Mycroft, Lestrade and Molly.

"Good luck." Molly giggled shyly. Mycroft nodded and Lestrade squeaked excitedly.

The grand palace doors opened with a whoosh. Inside were rows of mermaids and men, all in their best dress. The isle was lined with multicoloured seaweeds and coral.

Sherlock winked at the nervous blonde next to him and patted him.on the head. John playfully pushed his hand away and they swam together down the isle.

It all seemed a blur. The vowes, the whole 'marriage' part of it to be honest. Everything but the kiss. The kiss was the most beautiful part of the entire day.

It wasn't lustfull or pleading, simply a loving and passionate show of affection. It was the the perfect kiss.

Best of all, every one aproved. Mycroft, Irene amd even the king thought it best to have Sherlock marry the one he truly loved instead of run the kingdom with a bitter heart. The princess would just have to wait.

John lived happily with Sherlock for the rest of his days. The two were inseperable. You never saw one without the other. John joined the royal guard and Sherlock became head of the royal guard. Even at work the seemed inseperable.

It really was a beautiful relationship. Through thick and thin they stuck together. Even through the sleepless nights of raising little Hamish together. They were the perfect two.
