Completely forget what I said about the schedule! I have a lot of free time seeing as I get my homework done in time unlike some people... *Ahem*Ron and Harry*Ahem*
Instead, I will post one chapter from each story per day!
Sorry for the really short chapter last time, this one is much longer. And, don't forget that this story is told from Hermione's and then Draco's perspective. If you only want to read one side that's fine, but please bear in mind that each side is slightly different.
On with the fanfic!
~Hermione Granger <3
==================================================
I followed Harry and Ron to the common room. When we got there our trunks were already in our dorms. I rushed up the stairs where Parvati and Lavender were already there. They were whispering and giggling whilst I unpacked. I wasn't really eavesdropping on their conversation, although I swear I heard Ron's name in there somewhere. After unpacking, I descended the stairs to the common room to where Harry and Ron were both sat at a desk, going over their schedules.
"I'm going to the library," I approached them both, lying. I wasn't actually planning to go there, I wanted to see if I could find Draco roaming around the halls. I wanted to confront him and ask to why he was so upset at the feast.
"Blimey Hermione, you're going to the library already?!" Harry replied in shock.
"Yes. I figured I would do some light reading."
Harry laughed at this. "By light reading do you mean read a whole one thousand page book in a couple hours?"
I rolled my eyes at him and turned to the door. I opened it and walked through, sticking my tongue out at him in a childish manner before disappearing through the portrait door.
I stalked around the halls for a while. I wasn't really looking where I was going and before I knew it I had collided with somebody. It wasn't a big collision, however whoever I had bumped into couldn't keep their balance and had fallen backwards. I, however, had just about stayed on my feet.
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was go - "
"Move out of the way Mudblood..." The voice grew quieter and the last word was said with almost a tinge of guilt. I finally looked down to see who I was talking to.
Draco.
Draco had called me a Mudblood. Again. And it hurt. A lot.
"I was going to offer you a hand, but you called me..." I shivered "...that word."
"I'm sorry - "
"Sorry doesn't cut it!" I shouted. "Anyway, you're Draco Malfoy, you shouldn't be apologising."
"I... you're right, like always. But I really should not have called you a Mudblood. I know how much that word hurts you." There was a sadness in his eyes, and for the first time in my life I knew that he meant his apology. I held my hand out and he hesitantly took it. His hand was warm, making my cold hand warm up. I flinched a little. "I better get going then." He concluded, standing up.
It was then I remembered why I was here in the first place. "Draco, wait!" I called out to him. He turned around slowly and looked at me in the eyes, making my heart flutter.
WAIT! HE MADE MY HEART FLUTTER?!
As I realised this I started panicking, but masked it with a deep breath. I took a step towards him. "What's wrong?"
Draco looked taken aback by this, nevertheless he answered. "It's... it's nothing." He muttered. I could see him fighting back tears now.
I took another step forwards. "I know something is up with you. How you have been acting. You seem very... insecure... and... dismal."
