As I woke up from our little power nap of about an hour, all I could do was stare at Jayceon's face. It amazes me that we ran into each other not once, but twice. I still have trouble beliveing that we are together.
The fact that we both took are chances being together. Some of the people that support us now, were not understanding of our relationship. Many of Jay's friends thought I was just someone looking for his money, before they met me. Many of my friends thought that Jay was just going to break my heart, before they met him.
Its crazy that he wants to share his life with me and that he trusts me with his kids' life. One year ago, I was just a nurse in Los Angeles doing what she loves. Now, she lives with her absolute best friend, is a part of his kids' lives, and his carrying the love of her life's baby.
Wow. A year ago I didn't know that I could have so much love for one person. I didn't know that I could feel so protective over kids that, biologically, aren't mine.
Jay finally started stirring in the bed and eventually woke up. He leaned down and kissed me while his eyelids were still closed. "Hey, what time is it?"
I check my phone, "It is 5:13."
"Alright, you gotta get up now," he said rolling over on his back. "Why just me?" I ask.
"Because, babe, you take way longer to get ready than I do," he said completely awake.
"Fine. But, not without a kiss," I said puckering my lips out.
"That, I can do."
Jay was definitely right when he said that I need way more time than he does.
I applied Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Mocha with the Real Techniques Blending Spounge. I used color correcting concealer and the Tarte Shape Tape to cover up my dark circles.
Once I contoured and highlighted my face, I filled in my eyebrows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brown Pommade. I chose to do a very light eyeshadow look with a large wing and false eyelashes. Lastly, I applied chapstick and a nude lipstick to my lips.
I was a little conflicted on what kind of look I was going for. I want to dress up for my anniversary but at the same time I want to be comfortable. To Jayceon, it doesn't really matter, he understands both ways.
I decide to do a bit of both. I put on a green shift dress with a sheer lining. To dress the outfit up, I chose black gladiator heels with studs on them. For jewelry, I put gold studs in my ear and a body chain aroung my torso and on my chest.
When I finished getting dressed, I came out of the bathroom, but I couldn't find Jay. I walked out of our bedroom and I still couldn't find him. I picked up my phone and dialed his number, but no answer.
I looked around and my eyes landed on a note. I opened it.
Sorry that I couldn't see you looking fine walking out that bathroom, baby girl. How 'bout you meet me downstairs at the desk in the lobby.
I grabbed my phone and put our room key into my phone case while I headed out the door. I walked downstairs to the concierge desk and of course, no site of Jay.
"Hi mam! Do you need anything?" The woman at the front desk asked me.
"No, I'm just looking for someone," I responded.
"Mr.Taylor?" She asked. I gave her a look of total confusion
Before I can even say anything she hands me a note that looks identical the the first one.
Alright babe, meet me at the place where we first got to know each other. This time I'll really be there.
The beach.
The beach was right around the corner so wasn't far for me to walk at all. Once I reached the sand I took my heels off and carried them. I took a few more steps and I saw rose petals placed into a pathway.
I walked a few more steps and spotted Jay. He looked so sexy wearing a tight dress shirt with a few buttons undone and dresspants. His face lit up when he saw me.
"Hey there, stranger," I said making my way over to him.
"God, you look gorgeous," He said grabbing my waist and pecking my lips.
He grabbed my hand and walked me over to a candelit table.
I snuggled into Jay's chest, "Oh...this is beautiful."
The table was round and was covered with a white table cloth. At the center was a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of white roses.
"It's all for my woman," he said twirling me.
We were served my favorite meal....blackened seafood pasta. Penne noodles, shrimp, lobster and scallops topped with a creamy sauce.
Jay and I had some real conversations about our future. We obviously talked about the baby and the kids.
"Aaliyah, I need to ask you something." He was getting down on one knee, which wasn't very far from my head due to our significant height difference.
"Aaliyah, I love you, so much. You have changed my entire life, my entire outlook on life. When I look into your eyes, all I see is my future. God, baby I wish I had met you years ago."
At this point we were both emotional. Tears had already fallen from my eyes, but tears were building up in Jay's.
Jay pulled out a ring box and opened it. I was stunned by the beauty of the ring. It was a classic princess cut with a silver band. It was not small by any means, but it wasn't obnoxious.
"Aaliyah Jayde Morrison, I want to wake up everyday beside you and kiss you with hot morning breath. I promise to be there for you through the good, but especially through the bad. I promise that my heart will always be home for you. Will you marry me?"
I just sat there looking down at the love of my life and all his amazingness. I don't understand how I could love someone as much as I love him.
"Yes, baby, of course," I said grabbing his face and smotherring him with kisses.
He slid the ring on the ring finger of my left hand and picked me up. We just stood there, holding each other.
