The black van pulled up to the old, black, and rusted gates of the old warehouse where the Vampire Hunter Agency resides in.
The outside may seem old and crumbling, but the inside is just how you would imagine a secret agency would be.
All white, pristine tiles and stiff-backed serious working people. Besides me, of course.
The gate guard was an old, british man who I loved like a grandpa. A grandpa that hated me.
"Ello, Stewart! Fine day we're having, isn't it old chap?" I said, using my perfect british accent that the agency required me to learn.
I knew all languges. Stewart glared at me, but smiled at May, which he knew would piss me off.
I stuck my tongue out at him as we drove through the gates. Once May had parked in the secret garage on the other side of the warehouse, we stepped out of the car to be meeted by two guards who I didn't know.
"Hey guys! How is your life going?" I said, trying to make converstion like any person would when two guys you didn't know were carrying the body of a vampire you killed, for you.
They didn't answer my question. A matter of fact they didn't even spare me a glance.
I sighed, but decided to let it go. This time. We all four walked throug the front doors into a crappy room that matched the appearance of the outside of the building.
We walked over to the far North wall that had torn, brown wallpaper barely showing through the thick layer of grime.
They stood to the side as I walked up to a metal plate attached to the side of the wall.
I put my eyes to the small sensor and their was a beeping before a robotic voice spoke. "Alila Evans." It said, followed by a small burst of static, then, "Yo, what's up home dog?" It said in a now rapperish, guy voice.
The to guard's eyes widened, but May smiled a knowing smile. "Open the doors please." I spoke to the sensor.
"Anything for you. Fo-sizzle." It said, then the wall turned to reveal a huge room with big screen monitors and hundreds of people in lab-coats running around.
When I was sixteen, I successfully caught three vampires on our most-wanted list in one week. Sheree rewarded me by letting the sensor say anything I wanted it to say to me when it recognized me.
We were at the top of the few stares that led into the huge room. After the guys and May had already joined the mob of lab coats, I stayed at the top.
I held my arms out like I was going to give someone a huge hug. "Hello, everyone!" I yelled loudly.
Everything became silent. I stayed in the same position, waiting for a hello back.
When it didn't come, I started getting pissed. "Ah-hem?!" I said, fakely clearing my throat. Their was a choursed sigh then, "Hello, Lil." They said, before resuming whatever they were doing before my outburst.
I smiled smugly and walked down the stairs. I turned to the left and went down a wide hallway.
"Alila! Alila!" Someone called from behind me. I didn't slow or look back, but kept walking.
I heard hurried footsteps, then out of the corner of my eye, I saw another white lab coat.
"Hello, Rob. Oh, didn't I tell you to call me Lil?" I said, shooting him and accusing glance.
Rob was one of the new scientists here. He had brown, oily hair and small glasses.
"Oh, yes, very sorry Mrs. Evans. I, mean Alila. I mean Lil!" He said.
