Is this Love? Chapter 3 Page 6: The Hike

Chapter 3;

The guide blew the whistle and told us to find partners... I looked over at Ivory and remembered that we were 'done' so I guess I was gonna be all by myself. We all were lining up when Joel came over and said

"Don't worry about those two, their just jealous of what you have?"

"What do I have?"

"You have me silly"

He then decided that he'll be my partner since DJ was out of sight.

The sun was getting hotter by the minute as We all walked up this never ending hiking path all day and most peoples feet were killing them and so we took a break. Although when I looked at my wrist watch it was only 12:00pm

(Oh and if I forgot to mention that we had breakfast in the other chapter, we set a fire at around 6:30am in the morning and had steak pies, grilled sausages and water.)

Mr.McCally shouted out

"5 more minuets!" And we started to prepare for the journey down hill

I greedily drank all the water out of my flask until I got to the last drip, wore my protective hat (boy did I look ugly in that!) put on my sun cream, took off my sweater and took off my sun glasses.

As we made our way back to the campsite we queued up for our lunch, this time we didn't stay outdoors and set a fire but we went to the indoor food court and I got: a large chilli taco, nachos dipped in melted dairy cheese, a slice of buttercream filled sponge cake and as the only drink we could get was water I got that too.

I looked over my shoulder to find a seat at one of the tables. A scrunch paper hit my forehead and I saw Ivory sitting at the "populars table", she looked worn out and used so probably Kaitlyn didn't need her anymore once she knew that me and Joel were far apart.

I decided to sit by myself, since Joel and his friends wouldn't understand how lonely I was.

I just thought about what I was going to tell mom and Eva when I got home. There was no way I could say that me and Ivory weren't bestfriends after all these years... Oh won't these ten days finish already?

I bit hard on one of the nacho chips and it ripped a bit of my gum.

"Ouch!" I painfully howled with food in my mouth.

"You alright babe?"

I looked behind me and saw Joel...

"Why don't you come sit with us? We've got plenty of time before lunch is over"

"By "plenty of time" you mean less than an hour, right?"

"If you don't wanna come I understand, I don't wanna force it"

"Force what?"

He itches his head.

"Um. Our... our... Our f-f-friendship"

Joel's P.O.V

Oh my *** days! Is that the best thing you could say? You should've said "Our soon ending friendship and beginning boy-girl relationship". And what's the "Um" for? It makes you sound even more stupid than usual.

You can act so thick when it comes to flirting with "girls" sometimes . Lawd! Well anyway, you've already done it. Continue the conversation...

I put my hair behind my ear and bit my lip.
