Young James Potter x Reader

You are sitting under an oak tree with a drawing book in your lap. You were sketching the view of the Blake Lake. You hear rustling in the tree above, so you are very curious. At first, you don't see anything, but then you see the gorgeous face of James Potter. He was hanging upside down off of a tree branch and genuinely smiled at you. You returned the smile and went back to your drawing. You heard a thud as, you guessed, James got down from the tree. He sat next to you and playfully put his arm around your shoulders and said,

"What are you doing, (L/N)?" Your rolled your eyes and tried to shake it off, even though it felt good. You knew he was into Lily Evans, and that you didn't stand a chance being his girlfriend. You looked at him and his black hair was all messy, so he combed it with his fingers, which made him look even more hot.

"What does it look like, Potter?" you rose an eyebrow and waited for his reply.

"I don't know, relaxing?" he said as he put his arms behind his head and crossed his feet, as if he was relaxing. You shook your head and pushed him off his balance. He lost his balance and fell onto his right side and you held back your laughter, but it was hard.

"No! Guess again," you said holding your drawing book close to your chest. You giggled as he fixed his glasses and hair. He laughed and said,

"Oh, i dunno, drawing?" you nodded and continued to draw. You were "in your zone" for about 5 minutes, and then you were interrupted by the mischievous boy who took it from you and stood up.

"James! Give me my book back!" you tried to grab his legs but he took a step back. He shook his head and replied.

"No. I will not. I might, if you agree to come play Truth or Dare with Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail and I tonight in the Room of Requirement," shaking the book in his hand, he awaited his answer. You were a Marauder as well, you were Talons because you were an eagle. You rolled your eyes and said,

"Fine, now can I have my book back?" you held out your hand, wanting your drawing book. He gave you a cheeky smile and said,

"Later." He spun on his heels and stalked off. You got up on your feet and chased after him.

"James! I'm almost done with my drawing! Pleaaaaaase?" he turned his head around and had the same smile plastered on his face,

"Nope!" and he ran off toward the castle. You stopped and grunted. You sent him a glare that he couldn't see, rolled your eyes, and went to the castle too. You were regretting your agreement with James, and wondered what was going to happen.

(TIME SKIP)

It was dinner and you were eating with the rest of the marauders. You didn't really like Pettigrew, you had a bad vibe about him, but hung out with him since he was a Marauder. When you finished, you packed up your stuff and walked to the Room of Requirement. You heard faint footsteps behind you and didn't care about it because you knew it was the others.

You got to the great big wall and asked, Can be with my friends? And the doors became visible and you pushed then open and closed them. You sat down on a couch and waited for the boys to come.

"Hey Talons!" you turned your head and saw them walking towards you. You sat upright on the couch as they came over and sat down with you. Remus sat next to you on your left, Sirius sat next to him but on the floor, James sat next to him, and Pettigrew sat next to him. You and Moony decided to sit in front of the couch and be on the floor like the rest of them.

"Nice of you to show up!" You said with a smirk creeping on your face.

"Yes, well, if it weren't for James over here, we would've left with you, but he needed to prove he could get Evans before Hogsmeade this weekend. He obviously failed!" Sirius said. You laughed just to be nice, but inside you were hurting. James looked a little uncomfortable himself, which isn't like him, but you let it slide.

"Well I'm going first. Sirius, truth or dare?" It was surprising to see Remus step up to the plate, but it was also nice. Sirius' mouth curled into a smile and replied,

"Dare." You got excited, waiting for Remus to give Sirius his dare. You were all staring at Remus, wanting him to seal the death wish.

"Ok. I dare you to ask (Y/N) to go out with you in the wierdest way possible. It's not for real, so, (Y/N), you have permission to say no, unless you want to say yes." You laughed and couldn't wait to see what Sirius to come up with. You looked over at James and he looked really pissed, but you couldn't see why he would be.

Sirius came over and sat in front of you, and you sat there with a big grin on your face. He got summoned a top hat and a bow tie and put them on. All of a sudden, he yelled,

"(Y/N)(L/N), I WOULD BE EVER SO HAPPY IF THOU WOULD GO ON A SINGULAR DATE WITH THEE, SIRIUS BLACK, AND NEVER LEAVE ME AND MARRY ME AND HAVE KIDS WITH ME AND FOREVER BE MINE!!!" he gets up in your face and is inches away and his lips are so close to yours. You are backed up against the couch and the others are laughing hysterically at it and are rolling around on the floor. You push away Sirius and yell, "NO SIRIUS, NOOOO!" And start laughing yourself.

"Okay, okay, (Y/N), truth or dare?" You think for a second, and say,

"Truth, no DARE! DARE!" You scream at him and you are scared at what he is going to make you do.

"I dare you to let James braid your hair, and leave it in for the rest of the night." You blush slightly and you swallow hard, hoping James won't mess up your hair. He makes his way over to you and you turn around so he can do it. He does his thing and it takes about 5 minutes to do it and you turn back around and face the rest of the group. Remus, Sirius, and Pettigrew were snickering and James was smiling. You roll your eyes and get comfortable again.

"Alright, James, Truth or dare?" He smiles at you and says,

"Truth," You smile back, but yours was mischievous.

"Have you ever brought home the wrong dog? Have you switched up Sirius and a real dog before?" You laugh and so does the rest of the group, including James.

"Of course! But only once. It was when were at a muggle shopping center and he turned into a dog, to see who would be suspicious. But there happened to be another one there just like him roaming around, and I grabbed him instead of Sirius." Everyone was crying because of laughing so hard. We calmed down and James went.

"Peter, truth or dare?" He thought for a second and replied,

"Dare."

"I dare you to kiss Sirius on the cheek." I laughed out loud so hard that Remus had to literally calm me down. Sirius genuinely smiled and turned his head, showing his cheek, and he pointed at it. You coughed, trying to keep your laughter contained, as Pettigrew moved to where Sirius was, and gave him a peck on the cheek. You finally calmed yourself down and breathed in and out and waited from him to go.

"(Y/N), truth or dare?" You were surprised he picked you, since Remus hasn't gone yet, but you went along with it.

"Dare."

"I dare you to go up to your crush and kiss him on the lips, then ask him out if all goes well." Now he really did it.

You went as still as if you were petrified, and felt your face get red. You looked at Remus and Sirius, for help, but they just shrugged and you swallowed hard. You slowly crawled over toward James and quickly kissed him on the lips, hoping he wouldn't make it weird. You were also hoping to just peck his lips, but turned into a real kiss. You were surprised that he kissed you back, but definitely went with it. It was such a nice kiss, you didn't' want it to end, but it did and when you pulled back, you opened your eyes to see James smile big at you and you did the same while blushing like mad. You sat down and looked him in the eyes and said,

"James Potter, will you go out with me?" he grabbed the back of your head with his hand and pulled you in for another kiss. It was short, but still sweet. When he pulled back he replied,

"I would love to go out with you, (Y/N)(L/N)."  He pulled out your drawing book and put it in your hands and you smiled at him and pecked him on his cheek, happy that James is yours.
