Scorching2002, this is for you girl!

4th year (during the Triwizard Tournament)

You were walking back to the Gryffindor common room after a long night of studying. There wasn't any classes the next day because the Second Task was taking place then, but you still wanted to be ready for the D.A.D.A. test the day after.

You were nervous for Harry; you had been talking with stressed Hermione and she's told you that he isn't prepared for it, Ron, of course, says that he'll do fine (but he's not the one who is in the tournament). As you were thinking of your friends, you realized you haven't seen them since dinner, but you pushed it away, knowing they were probably getting Harry ready for the test in a few hours.

You finally reached the common room, saying the password "Mandrakes" and head in. As you walk in, you notice a big, dark figure sitting on the couch. When you get closer, you realize it's your friend and long time crush, Neville Longbottom. As you got even closer, you seemed to notice him staring at the fire intently, thinking hard about something. He looked scared about something, having his head rest on his hands, so you went to comfort him.

You sat down on the sofa next to him, but he didn't notice. You sat forward more and waved your hand in front of his face.

"Earth to Neville! Hello?" He jumped back, startled, and looked at you with question, then he shook it off with a smile.

"Oh hey there, (Y/N)! Sorry, didn't hear you come in... or sit down..." he said. He went back to having his head on his hands and staring at the fire.

"I noticed," you said, half sarcasm, half serious. You put your hand on his shoulder and asked,

"Are you okay, Neville? You seem a bit... off. Is there something troubling you?" He sighed as he leaned back against the back cushions, and taking your hand off his shoulder in the process. You lean back as well and wait patiently for his response.

"I'm nervous about tomorrow, (Y/N)."

"Who isn't?" you said trying to make him feel better.

"You don't understand," he paused, "Harry needed help putting his books away about, 20 minutes ago in the library. I helped him and he was stressed about the tournament, and I told him about a plant that can keep him underwater for an hour; Gillyweed." You nodded.

"Well, I'm nervous something wrong is going to happen when he takes the Gillyweed. For example, it might not last a full hour, there might be drastic effects right after it lasts, there are so many things that could go wrong, and I will be the cause of it all!" He puts his hands up to his face and covers it. He brings himself forward so that he is resting them on his knees. You rub his back and give him a side hug for comfort.

"Hey, hey, hey, shhhh. Nothing bad is going to happen to him, alright? He's going to do perfectly well and complete the task," you shake him gently, "WithOUT, any problems, eh?" You shake him again. He looks up at you and his expression has changed. He is smiling up at you and then pulls you into a nice, warm, bear hug. You were surprised at first, but it felt nice. You blush a little and hug him back tightly.

"Thank you, (N/n)! You're right, nothing bad is going to happen, he's going to be fine!" he pulls away and smiles brightly at you, and you return it happily.

"You're welcome Neville! Well, I should head off to bed, it's an early start tomorrow, and it's already really late." You say getting up.

"Me too. Thank you again, (Y/N)!" He stood up smiled at you. You walked behind the couch and were half-way up the stairs when you turn around and wave at him. Neville waved back and turned back around, gathering his stuff. You hesitate to continue up, and you turn and blush, and couldn't wait for the morning.
