The cell phone on the table incessantly played "I'm too sexy." It brought only a partial smile to the room's occupant's face. The caller hated that that was his ringtone. Finally, just before it went to voice mail, he picked up.

"Yeah?"

"Mr. X would like to speak with you."

He rolled his eyes.

"Right, put him on." With all the money bankrolling this, you'd think they could come up with better code names.

A gruff voice growled at him from the other end of the line.

"Y-17! You better explain yourself!"

He yawned, bored.

"What's to explain?"

"You're supposed to be getting close to her, not annoying her!"

"Yeah, and?"

"I saw the tapes. I wouldn't blame her for avoiding you like the plague!"

He splayed his fingers out on the table, imagining playing a knife game with them. If only he were allowed. He was really good at it.

"I have a name, you know."

"And you know we're not supposed to use them in case of taps!"

He wondered if the man's blood pressure were higher than normal. Then he smiled. He closed his eyes and slowly reopened them. His brown eyes were now crackling with blue energy. In seconds, he had his result.

"Agh!! Andrew!"

Andrew chuckled.

"I hate it when you do that! I creeps me out!"

"I just wanted to see you personally."

"You keep your out of body experiences to yourself! And keep on task! Do not mess this up!"

Andrew rolled his eyes again.

"There's method to my madness, X."

"Oh yeah? So far, all I see is you annoying her as much as you annoy me. One of these days, she's going to figure you out, if you keep going on like that. She'll get curious. I might just lead her in that direction; just to see how bad she'd smash you."

"And then we wouldn't have our little project, would we?"

"Humph. We barely have it as it is, with you in the mix. You're a liability."

Andrew was quickly becoming bored with this conversation.

"I'm all you got. Peace out."

"Wait! Don't you-"

He flipped the phone shut and placed it back on the table. He could really use a knife at the moment.
