Carmen's POV:
"Yes. And so are you." she stated.
I can't believe what I am hearing right now. My very own mother just told me that I have some type of supernatural powers. I wanna believe her, but it seems unreal. How is this possible? I believe in the supernatural like vampires and werewolves because of Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, but I wouldn't actually consider it happening in real life.
"Carmen?" my mom asked.
"You're lying. There is no way that of all people that I am the one who has powers!" I said.
"Carmen, you do, but I am here to help you." my mom said trying to confort me. "Your powers are made for the good, not for the evil. I'm going to help train you, as well as your dad. We're going to tell you everything that we know about your powers to help you because..."
"Because what?" I asked nervously.
"If you aren't ready enough to battle a chosen one, your powers will be gone forever and there will be no way of getting them back."
At this point, I didn't know what to say. I just wanted to run away and hide out for a very long time. I am not okay. This is not okay.
Two Days Later
It has been always 2 days since I've seen or spoken to Raquel. I guess that's over now. I was standing at my locker, getting my books, as I seen Raquel walking towards me. I quickly closed my locker and started to walk away.
"Carmen, wait!" Raquel said, grabbing my arm.
"Let me go!" I stated.
She let go and we both just stood there looking at each other blankly.
"Carmen, can you at least let me explain?"
"Why should I? Do you know what I had to go through there? It isn't okay for you just to go behind my back and drag me a to party, that I didn't even want to go to and leave me there to take the rap for you at the police station!"
"I know that, Carmen. I just wanted to apologize for that and any other drama that I've caused you in the past. I truly am sorry, would you accept my apology and we can forget that this ever happened." Raquel questioned.
"I'll forgive you." I started.
"Yes! Thank you so mu--", Raquel said as I cut her off.
"But I am not going to be friends with you anymore, not after what you did." I said finishing.
"I said I was sorry! What more do you want?" She said, sounding a little hurt.
"Raquel, that's besides the point. You got me into trouble with the law and that was not cool. Yea, I've taken the rap for somethings you did, but you basically forced me to take this one for you. I'm done taking one for the team........ Well, for this team." I said walking to my next class as Raquel was left there speechless.
I looked back and I saw her wiping away some tears that fell down her cheeks. Usually, you're supposed to feel bad if you make someone cry, but in this case I don't. As of now, I think Raquel deserves everything she gets, from me and everyone else.
That's it. Raquel and I are no longer best friends. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, now I can finally move on with my life!
Or so she thought....
