I Promise You This Isn't Pain You're Feeling [A Black Veil Brides fanfiction]

Chapter 1

“TEN MINUTES!” I yell excitedly at my two best friends, Hayley and Katie, in the queue outside the venue.

“NO WAY! NO FRICKING WAY!” Hayley shrieks in reply, jumping up and down.

“BLACK VEIL BRIDES! BLACK VEIL BRIDES!” Katie starts chanting, and soon a whole group of people at the front of the queue with us are chanting along with us.

“Kaitlyn, don’t fangirl too hard when you see Andy, will you?” Hayley laughs, playfully punching my arm.

“Hey! I’m not that bad dude! Just, don’t scream when you see Jinxx, I don’t want to lose my hearing before they even start playing!” I laugh back, sticking my tongue out at her.

“KAITLYN! HAYLEY! LOOK!” Katie shouts at us, pointing towards the venue. The doors are being opened. The three of us start squealing and I start off towards the door. I hand my ticket to the security guard at the entrance and he nods his approval. I wait a few seconds for the girls who come through with grins on their faces. We all nod at exactly the same time. “Front row.”

I take off running to the stage, Katie and Hayley hot on my heels. I stand right at the barrier at the centre of the stage and firmly grab hold of the bar. Katie and Hayley join me, one at either side. They copy my act of holding the bar.

“This is going to be great!”

“Obviously! It’s BVB!”

“It’s going to be perfect...” I trail off. After a bit of random chatter with the girls, I realize that the concert hall had filled up and the lights dimmed down completely, leaving us stood in pitch blackness. I subconsciously shriek as the whole crowd start a chant. I recognise it as the one Katie had started outside. I happily join in and a few minutes later, a spotlight switches onto the drum kit. The three of us scream as none other than CC took his spot behind the kit. Another spotlight appears and the audience roars as Ashley Purdy struts onto the stage. The hall goes silent again as two more spotlights appear, and Hayley goes crazy as Jake and Jinxx take their places. They begin to play Love Isn’t Always Fair and the spotlights follow them around the stage. My breathing gets heavier as I prepare to see him appear. Andy.

“One look and I am sold
You got me on my knees
You steal all my innocence
A love sick melody
Take me...”

My heart melts at the sound of his voice through the speakers. When he appears in the spotlight, right before me, it only makes the reality seem more like a dream.

No. Kaitlyn, wake up. He wasn’t grinning at you as he sang that, he was grinning at the audience in general.

“DUDE! HE WAS TOTALLY STARING AT YOU WHEN HE SUNG THAT!” Hayley screams in my ear over the music, smiling. I shake my head and look back at the stage where the band are going crazy already. Soon enough, the song ends and Andy steps forward to speak to the crowd.

“How’s everyone doing tonight?!” The crowd roars in reply.

“We’re gonna need someone to come up here to sing this next song with us. Any takers?” He grins at the front row. Katie and Hayley start pointing at me, trying to get Andy’s attention. I shoot them a look that says ‘are you kidding me?’ before, again, turning my attention to the stage. Andy is crouched down in front of me, grinning.

“Care to join us?” He asks, smirking. I point to myself in disbelief. He nods and I gasp. Two of the security guards at the front help me over the barrier and up onto the stage. Andy puts his arm around my shoulder and says to the crowd, “I’d like all of you to welcome our special guest to the stage tonight...” He holds the mic out to me so I can introduce myself.
