Chapter 7: Risk

It has been 1 month since maddie went missing, the police and investigators have decided to close the case. Caspar's mother and sister has flew down to London to see him, he is staying at their cottage his mother rented for afew weeks

Me? Zoe and Alfie kindly offered for me to stay at there house in Brighton for free, joe comes to visit me, when I mean, 'me' I mean Alfie and Zoe. He's been blanking me lately and Im not sure why. I did recently confess to him that I liked him and he loved me to.. I thought about asking him tonight, I don't know if I have the courage though.

Later that night
I was sitting on the sofa watching one of Casps new YouTube videos. with Zoe, Alfie and Nala sitting on my lap. He looks happier than he did before..but I just can't tell if he is happy or he is hiding behind that smile in his videos. Zoe pulled out her vlogging camera.

"Hi guys! I'm currently watching one of Caspar's new vlogs with Alfie and gabby"
She tilted her camera up and I made a funny face, we both laughed. "Caspar, if your watching this then-"

She stopped, the door bell rang. "Be right back guys!" She turned her camera off. "Don't worry I'll get it" she smiled and got up.
It was joe. He walked in wearing black joggy bottoms, black converses, sugglife green hoodie and a black cap on.

He looked at me then looked straight at Alfie "hey Alfred!" He hugged him. "How's it goin man?" Alfie replied. He done the same for Zoe and completely ignored me the whole night. Something's up..

It was time to go to bed. I was making my way upstairs when I saw Zoe and Joe in Zoe's room. I hid behind the banister railings and sat down on the stairs. "Joe I need to talk to you" I heard Zoe say, what did she need to talk to him about? "Go on" he stood there. "I've noticed you and gabby haven't talked in awhile." She said. "So?" He commented. "So? What's going on with you two?" She asked.

"I'm ignoring her" he sat on the bed. "Why?" She asked. "Listen.." he looked around. I ducked down even more. He shut the door hard.
What? I tip toed across the landing and listened closely through the door with my ear.

"I have to stay away from her. Conor said I need too, I have no choice!" He stuttered "he said if I don't stay away from her there is consequences" silence.
I listened more closely. "What?" Zoe said cautiously. "I cannot tell you anymore. He's on my case."
I could hear foot steps coming towards the door and the handle moved from his grip.

"What do you mean, 'he's on your case'" she butted in loudly. "Conor is coming after me. As much as I love gabby I can't risk my lif-"
He stopped. I quickly ran into my room and hid around the corner.
He came strutting out the room and down the stairs angrily.
