They woke up in a pleasant way. The class surrounded them and laughed when they opened their eyes in panic, "Oh, um. Did the alarms not wake us up?" Conner asked shocked. "No, I guess they didn't man." Tyler said laughing. "Oh, I'm sorry." Tiffany said quickly, scrambling to cover herself with the blanket once she realized she wasn't wearing clothes. "Class, today we will be going on a field trip. We will be looking at nature and writing a one to two page essay about how nature is calming, you four sleepy-heads can stay here and make up the points by cleaning the classroom, and picking up your condoms." Mr. James said smiling. Tiffany's face went dark red and Conner's eyes opened wide, the class laughed and giggled, they walked away from the classroom quietly. "Get to work you four, there's coffee in my cabinet. Have fun." he laughed as he walked out. "Well, that was great with an eight," Christine said laughing. Little did she know that this would be the best quote in the story. Anyway, "Come on we've got to scrub this place spotless. You can pick up your condoms." Madison giggled. Tiffany's face flushed red again and Conner laughed. "I love it when you get embarrassed, it's so cute how your face turns as red as a strawberry." Conner said, leaning down kissing the tip of Tiffany's nose. "Um, guys, I'm going to make that coffee, be right back." Madison said, disappearing into Mr. James' office. Christine mumbled a song, undoubtedly by Twenty One Pilots.
They picked up trash and drank the coffee, "Do you guys like music?" Christine asked. "Some." Conner said blandly. "What about Twenty One Pilots?" Christine jabbed, "They're good," Conner said kindly, picking up another piece of trash. "Panic! At The Disco?" She questioned again, "I like 'I Write Sins Not Tragedies' that's a good song." he said looking up and taking a drink from his hot cup. "Getting better, what about Melanie Martinez?" She said smiling, "OMG I love her so much!" Tiffany yelled running towards Conner, "Please tell me you've heard of her!" "Yeah, I like her style." Conner said smiling at Tiffany, who was now sitting on top of him. "Great!" Tiffany chirped. Tiffany grabbed her phone from the back pocket of the shorts she was now wearing, "Let's listen to some music." she played songs that could only be described as 'basic', Twenty One Pilots, Melanie Martinez, and Panic! At The Disco.
A song came on, I forget what it was called, "Oh, I like this one!" Conner said, "There's an infestation in my minds imagination, I hope they choke on smoke 'cause I'm smoking them out of the basement, this is not rap this is not hip-hop, just another attempt to make the voices stop, rapping to prove nothing, just writing to say something, 'cause I wasn't the only one who wasn't rushing to sayin' nothing, this doesn't mean I lost my dream, It's just right now I got a really crazy mind to clean," he hesitated then finished singing the song and the whole time they kept their eyes on him, he looked at the others, "What?" They were all looking at him, "They're 'good' you didn't say you memorized their songs." Christine scoffed. "What? I really like this one." Conner said. The song was ended and they kept playing music while they were cleaning, they took the banners down and put them on Madison's sleeping bag, which was still in Mr. James' office. Once everything was clean they sat in the chairs and did nothing for a while. Conner checked his watch, "Class will be over in half an hour." he sighed, "Or it should be." he rubbed his eyes tiredly, Tiffany sat her head in the chair beside her and closed her eyes, "I think I want to do something with my life." she said sadly, "Isn't that why you're in college, to become something?" Madison asked plainly. "No, I'm here because my parents wanted me to come here, they met in college and wanted me to meet the love of my life here too." Conner grabbed her hand, "I think I met the love of my life." Conner whispered. Tiffany leaned up and propped herself against him, "So, you're only here to get in a relationship? Isn't that a little strange, to take four years of your life and go to college, just to find a husband?" Christine sounded intrigued. "It is, but I really want to do something I'll be remembered for," Tiffany said, exhausted. "Like what babe?" Conner whispered, unable to make the words loud. "Like invent something useful, or write a book, something of that nature." Tiffany whispered back. "You want to write a book?" Madison inched closer to them. "Sure, why not?" Tiffany asked. "You can do it, and I just want to be the first person to read it," Mr. James said standing in the doorway. "How long have you been here?" Christine asked. "Not long, but I'd really enjoy to read this book, once you're done with it of course." Mr. James spoke softer than feathers. "I'll get started on the book as soon as I can." Tiffany smiled, "Great, now go home, you guys need to sleep." he was nice indeed.
