"i d-d-don't w-want t-to live an-anymore." his words were slow and stuttery. josh reached over to touch tyler's hands.
"don't t-touch me!" he cried/tried to yell.
"we need to bring you to the hospital, ty!" josh was also crying, he loved this boy.
"let me die!" this time he didn't stutter.
he was certain.
"if you do this tyler, you aren't ending the pain. you're passing it on to someone else." josh didn't want to lose tyler. he had only known him for a couple months, but he made him happy.
it looked like tyler had a sudden realization.
josh reached to take the boys hand to help him to his feet.
tyler didn't say a word.
he could hardly stand, josh was practically carrying him.

they got to the hospital in record time.
the nurse took one look at tyler.
she knew what happened.
she knew that tyler was nearly dead.

"can i see him yet?" josh was pacing back and forth, wiping the tears out of his eyes occasionally.
"soon, okay josh?" the nurse reassured him.
the doctor walked out of tyler's room.
"he isn't doing the greatest." the doctor looked josh in the eyes. "what exactly happened?"
"well, when i talked to him this morning he ignored me. then i left to pay bills and other things. he texted me that he felt like nobody cared. that he didn't do anything right. i came home and he was in the bathroom on the floor with my medicine i had to take a couple weeks ago by him. it w-was e-empty. he's been on medicine for his depression for a month or two now. did he not take it? does he need something else?" josh started panicking. which soon turned in to an anxiety attack.
"it's m-m-my fault." he yelled in between his breaths.
"you did nothing wrong. i promise. he's tough. i bet he'll pull through, okay?" the doctor was frowning. he patted josh on the back.
josh soon calmed and returned to his pacing.
he did this for about thirty minutes until he was able to see tyler.

he walked slowly in to the hospital room.
the doctors told josh that tyler had only taken about 14 pills. that's all that was left.
tyler opened his eyes halfway.
"hi josh." his voice was raspy. he looked paler then usual.
"hi ty. i'm sorry i wasn't home. i'm sorry that i left. i'm sorry tha-"
"look me in the eye. i did this to my fucking myself. you did absolutely nothing wrong." tyler sternly whispered. he didn't have the energy to raise his voice above a whisper.

"you know what josh? you are the best thing that's ever happened to me. don't you dare think for one second that you provoked this, that it was your fault. i didn't take my medicine for a week. i forgot. i'm the dumb one in this situation."

josh didn't reply. he held tyler's until he fell asleep again.
josh refused to leave his side.
