Chapter 4

Ariel's POV

Dinner, with two VERY handsome princes, One named Eric and one named Cole. Eric has very dark brown, almost black, hair and two bright blue eyes. No piercings or tattoos, so he wasn't really my type, but he was being very generous, so I thought I'd play along to the 'Prince and Princess' thing.

Cole, on the other hand, has curly brown hair that covers his ears, if he even has any. His bright green eyes light up when he looks at Estelle, he obviously likes her. I wish I had a guy that liked me, or even thought I was pretty. Nope, I'm just plain ol' Ariel, red, frizzy hair, plain grey eyes, and crooked teeth. I have to wear purple braces for two more years, I sound so weird when I talk too! I'm not really skinny like Estelle, she is like a twig. I wish I could be her, she is just so marvelous, every guy I know likes her, even Jason.

She is probably going to end up marrying the prince, getting her happily ever after, while I sit around as a maid. I'd spend countless hours picking up after the royal family, I'd never be able to go back home, I mean we have no idea where we are still.

Cole sat next to Estelle, he was obviously shy. I saw his hand accidentally brush against hers on the way back to the castle, his face was so red, I stifled a laugh, which gave me a couple odd looks and an eye roll from a certain child called Estelle.

"Childish" She mouthed to me, making me burst into laughter. I couldn't help it, I'm just a 'funny' person. Eric looked confused and raised an eyebrow to Cole, Cole shrugged his shoulders and Estelle rolled her eyes again.

"Your eyes are gonna fall out if you keep rolling them like that." I said in-between my fits of laughter.

"Suck it." she replied. Wow, someone was very hungry.

"Suck it?" Cole and Eric both said in unison. That made both me and Estelle laugh even harder. What world were we in? Pluto? Probably.

"Erm. It is a term, mainly said by girls, unless a guy wants a blo-"

"ARIEL! LANGUAGE! There are children here!" Oops. Estelle's face turned red, kinda like my hair. She looked like a rotting tomato, yanno, red face, brown on top. Yeah.. I don't know.

"Well, what does this term mean, my fair lady." Cole said grasping Estelle's hand and looking into her eyes. She blinked a couple times before turning her attention to the floor. I laughed even more. Eric gave me a confused look, again.

"Uh, well, it means.... suck a.. um..." She began to form the word.

"BANANA!" My voice was kinda hoarse, I've been laughing waaayyyyy too much.

"Suck a.. a banana?" Eric questioned me. Estelle quickly nodded her head vigorously, letting go of Cole's hands and returning her attention to her cake sitting on the plate in front of her. Vanilla, she disliked it very much, but I could tell she was trying to be polite and eat it. It wasn't chocolate, so I didn't eat it. I stuck to vanilla ice cream, the only vanilla thing I will ever eat. At least Estelle finally got the cake we fell down a hole trying to get. I could tell she wanted her rainbow cake she was looking forward to.

"Um.. Excuse me, but do you mind showing me to the restroom?" I whispered, mainly talking to Eric more than Cole. I bet I looked like a shiz ball. He merely nodded before standing and pulling out my seat.

We slowly walked down a long hallway until we reached a grand room. It looked like a ballroom, chairs were lined up against the walls and small stage was set up in the far corner for the orchestra. Next to it I saw a few instruments, about ten violins, five violas, two basses, and three cellos. Perfectly proportioned for an amazing sound. I wanted to walk up and grab the beautiful viola and play my heart out, but I'm not that good so it might sound like a dying cat.

"Would you like me to wait over there for you or are you fine?"

I was taken out of my music fantasy world by his question.

"Oh, I'm fine, you can go back and finish eating."

He nodded and walked down the hallway. I entered the bathroom and looked into the large mirror above the sink. Okay, my hair was curled and my makeup looked okay. Eye shadow was messing up so I rubbed it in to even everything out. Eyeliner stared rubbing off too. I groaned and dabbed a napkin in the water to take off a bit of the makeup. Now I was only wearing mascara and eye shadow. My dress was a little torn up at the bottom, and my feet were throbbing in my heels. I have never worn heels in my entire life, how am I lasting so long right now?

I stepped out and walked down to the ballroom. The viola was sitting there in the case. I opened up one of the cases and found a perfect viola, in tune too! I took a seat and looked at the music on the stand. Conquistador, my favorite piece, it has a lovely viola solo. I lifted my right hand up to the D string. One long note of E. I close my eyes and started to play by memory, by measure 54, I heard a violin join in and I saw Estelle rocking her violin. By the end of the song I heard clapping. My face brightened as I peered over the stand and eyed Eric and Cole. They had a smile on their faces when Estelle stood up and bowed holding her violin under her arm. I felt like a deer in headlights, I never play in front of anyone but Estelle.
