Safia's POV

We ate dinner and watched some tv. And by 'we' I mean mom, Yassine, Brody and I.

"C'mon honey, it's getting late", my mom said grabbing Yassine's hand.

They went upstairs and I was alone with Brody again.

Even though it was getting late, Brody refused to go home until he knew for sure I was okay. That cry session did me good, it was what I needed all along.

"You okay?" Brody asked once again.

He looked at me with his bright blue eyes until I broke eye contact.

I know that you all think that we were sitting close next to eachother holding hands like any other couple, but no.. I refused to be in any relationship, a normal relationship anyway.

Brody is mine and I'm Brody's, but we were trying to minimize the physical contact. Of course it didn't always go as planned, but I made it clear that I didn't want something like that kiss to happen again.

"Yeah, you being here is a big help." I responded after a short break.

A smile appeared on his face as I made eye contact again.

The doorbell interupted our moment and Brody offered to open the door, but I refused.

"You're the guest, sit back down mister." I said when he already stood up.

I opened the door and the person I least expected was standing in front of me.

The person that practically was stalking me.

But also the one that in some way was there for me.

You know, the person I hoped died instead of my brother..

Rasheed Bourdini.

"Hey Safia." he said.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked annoyed.

Because I raised my voice a bit, Brody walked over and joined me.

As soon as he saw who it was, he stood in front of me pushing me back.

"What do you want?!" Brody asked.

He was angry, you could see it at his hands which were formed into fists.

"Not here to talk to you tough guy, forgot how I saved your ass at the party?" Rasheed responded.

"I didn't need your saving" Brody said taking a few steps forward.

"Ok-aay" I said. I pulled Brody back by grabbing his arm. "Come in Rasheed." I added making room for him to enter.

"What are you doing Safia?!" Brody asked.

"Giving him a chance to explain, that's what I'm doing." I said. "Now you either let him explain or you can go". I added pointing towards the door.

"I'm not going anywhere as long as he's here." Brody said.

"Fine, but not a word." I responded.

"Explain." I said facing Rasheed again.

As he was going to start, mom came downstairs to join the conversation.

"Safia, who's this?" Mom asked when she walked downstairs.

She probably thinks that I only have male friends.
