Brody's POV
When I saw Safia looking at me, a smile appeared on my face but not on hers, she turned back arround and continued with what she was doing. Even though I liked to tease her, I don't want her to hate me. I also saw she was looking at her phone, so she definitely received my friend request. Of course she's ignoring it, that's what she can do best.
My friends left the canteen saying they had something to do. They are probably going to smoke around the corner outside the school, that was their go to spot to smoke. I never smoked for long. I've tried it a couple of times, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
I was alone with Britt and I thought it was the perfect moment to ask Britt were she knew Safia from.
"Hey little sis, do you know the girl that was arguing with you the other day?", I asked.
"After she opened her big ass mouth, I asked arround if people knew her. Apparently she goes to this school since grade 7" she answered taking a bite from her sandwich.
Tell me something I don't know yet, I thought.
She continued and told me everything she knew about her; "I also asked the boys, your friends, if they knew her. Well, want to know something? They used to mock and bully her, and you did that too. So I'm so sorry that you have a project with her, I'm truly feeling sorry for you. I'm glad that you also hate her though."
"Really? Euhm.. Yaa duuh", I looked around the canteen, eventually letting my eyes rest on Safia's back. Of course she can't stand me, I used to bully her. I don't blame her for calling me a jerk now.
Safia and her friends got up and we had eye contact for a few seconds but now, I was the person to break eye contact first. Somehow I was embarrassed I guess. Do I need to apologize? Do I just ignore it? What should I do? I was sure about one thing though, I'm going to avoid her until I know what to do. Okay, so let me justify.. YES I used to mock people and YES I used to bully others. But NO I don't to that anymore. I just did that to fit in, we all had a bad past we regretted right? I know that the person I call 'my friends' still do that, but that's their business. Anyway, I just hope that-..
"Helloo? Earth to Brody?" I heard my sister yell waving her hand in front of my face.
"Yeah, what?" I aked annoyed.
"Okaaay, anyway... I have class now, do I see you at home?"
"And don't forget the party tonight at the end of the street" she finished while she packed her stuff.
"Euhm I don't know Britt, I'm not really in a party-mood" I said also packing my stuff.
"Please please" she practically begged.
"Fine fine."
If I didn't go than she wouldn't be allowed to go either. So I was always her 'party buddy', even though I didn't party that much to be honest. I just go for my friends and Britt, she's 2 years younger than me so I didn't want anything to happen to her. Mom would kill me.
I saw Britt leave the canteen and I also left a few minutes after her. I took my books from my lockers after I checked which class I had. I had physics, the most boring course.
I wasn't really in a talky mood so I decided to sit in the front of the class at the table closest to the door. I was almost sitting out of the room, that was how much I hated this course. There was one thing I really wasn't in the mood for.. talking.
Safia entered the room and we made eye contact when she walked in. Of course we did, I was almost sitting out of the room. I broke eye contact and she went to sit on her normal spot, at the back of the class.
