I knew you didn't hate me (Klance smut/fluff)

A Day without Keith, Pidge Knows !!!

No smut in this one , just a lot of angsty Lance missing his love . Keith is sent on a mission alone even after Lance begs to go with him. Once Keith is gone Lance finds himself missing him way too much. He comes clean to Hunk after his heartache is too obvious. And Pidge knows!!!! But she is enjoying making Lance sweat at the mention of Keith, so she is going to have fun with it while she can.

"What do you mean your sending Keith on a mission alone to one of the Galra bases!" Lance said with extreme concern in his voice. "It's a quick mission, it shouldn't take longer than a day." Shiro said trying to calm Lance down. "A whole day!!!" Lance practically had a heart attack. "Look it's an abandoned base, and Keith can activate the base with his Galra form so he is the only one that can go."

"But alone? Let me go with him, I'm the sharp shooter I'll watch his back!" Lance tried to plead his case to Shiro. "Lance it's not like I haven't thought about sending you with him, and your guy's team work is well over our expectations but you guys would only be a distraction to each other." Shiro tried to reassure Lance that it was simple enough for Keith to do this on his own and justify why Lance could not go.

Lance knew Shiro was right about the distraction part but still he was uneasy about Keith going alone "I'm the only one that is agile enough to go with him."

"You also don't take direction well and are extremely competitive with him. Sending you guys together would be a mistake that can get you both killed! Keith is a hot head you know that." Shiro reminded Lance "Exactly I can calm him down, he's fire and I'm ice" Lance was trying to make himself sound reasonable.  "That may be true but this mission runs on instinct something that Keith does best alone."  Lance opened his mouth to protest but was cut off by Shiro. "Look my decision is final, at the end of the day this is my order you can not fight me on this." Lance gave him a look of distraught but he understood. Shiro was their leader and Lance was overstepping. "I understand Shiro." "I'm sorry Lance" Shiro put his hand on Lance's shoulder for reassurance then took off to brief Keith for his mission.

As soon as Keith and Shiro were done discussing the mission Keith went to get into his armor and prepare for take off.  Lance walked Keith over to Red holding his hand. The walk was silent. Lance didn't' know what to say and Keith was even more dead with words.  "Lance I know you wanted to come but, these are Shiro's orders, I trust him." Keith gave Lance's hand a squeeze.  "I know" Lance said with a whine in his voice "but still I don't like that you're going alone"

"Are you saying that I can't take care of myself?" Keith raised an eyebrow at him letting go of Lance's hand and crossing his arms over his chest.

"No, no, no not at all, I know you're tough babe but its just anything can happen out there and there isn't anything I can do from way over here." Lance's face had worried creases from overthinking of all the possible dangers. They were standing at Red's door now and Keith stood in front of Lance. "Stop worrying Lance, you're going to get wrinkles on that smooth skin of yours. "Keith teased trying cheer up Lance. "Am I hearing some jealousy of my immaculate skin." Lance grinned gloating his smooth skin. "I'd be lying if I said no" Keith chuckled.

Lance gave Keith a kiss that drowned out all of the nerves and dangers that the mission brought. All the "what if's?" Like Galra showing up, or him failing at being able to interact with the Galra technology. "Be safe ok," Lance said with their noses touching and a knot in his throat. They felt each other's breathes lingering over their lips. "Don't worry, I wasn't top class for nothing, I'll see you soon and stop worrying." Lance nodded as Keith headed inside his lion to take off. Once gone Lance felt a knot in the pit of his stomach.

Wow Keith had been gone for a full 5 seconds and Lance was already losing his head. He needed to take his mind of this mission so he went to the kitchen and ate everything he could. Then he thought about bugging Pidge for a bit but decided he would be in hot water there so he settled for spending some quality time with Blue. Which ended up in him taking a nap while Blue washed away his worries. When he woke up the first thing he did was go find Shiro to ask about Keith. Shiro was in the kitchen finishing his lunch while Hunk was once again trying to perfect his cookies; every batch was slightly less horrible. "Shiro have you heard any word back from Keith yet?" Shiro took his last spoon full of space goo before he answered. "He's landed successfully but he still has a lot of work to do."
