Skyward Sword

If Link were to ever hurt you, he would be very unnerved about it, and, as you learned from your first fight, he can swing the situation way out of proportion. He makes the situation way bigger than it needs to be, and take something to heart. He punishes himself. So, naturally, he feels a lot of remorse even if it wasn't his fault.

I was sparing with Karane while Link was sparing with Pipit. Pipit suggested that it would be a fun thing to do as I was friends with Karane and Link was friends with Pipit. I believed Pipit was looking for a good excuse to beat up Link for kissing Karane, even though they were both drunk. But to be fair, I was also looking for a good excuse to beat Karane. I was still upset about the whole ordeal too. I figured by the end of this Link and Karane would have some pretty good bruises. Which wouldn't be too bad because then Pipit and I would have to care for our lovers. So win win, sort of.

But, as fate had it, neither Link nor Karane nor Pipit ended up with a bruise. It was me, somehow. I didn't remember how it happened. I was so focused on my fight with Karane that I didn't hear Pipit yelling at us to duck. Karane heard him, and dropped down to her knees. She tried to pull me down with her, but not in time. A wooden sword collided with my face, just above my eye. It made a loud klunk before landing on the ground. I dropped to the ground to sit and instinctively cover where I'd been hit.

"Hissss...ow." I muttered. Link turned around as soon as he heard my verbal expression of pain. He didn't really know what to do at first. He just seemed kinda stunned. It was only when Pipit rushed past him that he ran over.

"(Name), are you alright?" Karane and Pipit asked in unison. Link knelt by my side and pried my hand away from my eye.

"Is it bruising?" I already knew the answer to my question. Yes, it was. It was harder to keep that eye open. I was going to have this black-eye for a while. Link grimaced.

"I'm so sorry, (Name). Pipit knocked my sword out of my hand. It flew back and hit you. I didn't mean t-"

"Link," I cut him off.  "You don't have to apologize for this. It's not your fault. Just coincidence." Link nodded, but he still felt bad about it.

He didn't like looking at my face for awhile. He didn't like seeing the bruise. Pipit apologized for knocking Link's sword out of his hand, and the four of us went to get some pumpkin soup after. But Link was still upset. He didn't speak much while we were eating. I held his hand under the table, and he began to relax some, but he wouldn't let me do much training until the bruise was mostly gone.

Ocarina of Time

Link doesn't like the idea of you getting hurt, period. He very much doesn't like it caused by his own hand. He feels extremely guilty and does whatever is needed to make you well again just to try to make up for it. But if you get a little scratch, cut, or bruise on your face, it makes you look tough, in his opinion. He likes the look more than he'd care to admit.

We needed more firewood. It was getting colder at night and we were running low. By we I just mean me and whenever Link visits, which is pretty often. He came by just before I was going to start chopping. As soon as he saw what I was doing, he offered to help. I let him chop the wood. Even if we were together, he was such a show off. I wasn't complaining.

I gave him more logs and stacked up the split ones on the side of the house. He'd chop them, throw the cut ones aside, and grab another log. Most of the wood was a little wet so it took more force to split them evenly.
