Entry #112
There was a challenge between familiars at today's Coven meeting. It was the first time I've seen one. They've fallen out of popularity in the past few decades apparently, but Sei says every so often when familiars change Master's they will want to test their new strength. Sei also scoffed at this. I imagine he wouldn't get very many challenges, since he's supposed to be considered the strongest and is very obviously the most feared. But if the rumors are true, then Sei might have gotten weaker with the curse around. I know I'm no where near as powerful a witch as his old masters. I doubt when I became his master that he got anything out of my part of the connection.

Sei and I went shopping for ingredients and groceries at the market in the town across the forest. Sei usually gets a few odd looks when he comes along with me, because he insists on being in his cat form. Most people would find it weird to see a pure black cat walking around, especially when he points me towards the things on our list before I walk past them.
Today though, someone actually came up to us! He asked if Sei was my cat and tried to touch him. Sei, of course, was having none of that and swatted at him. But the man just laughed it off and turned his smile on me. He said he lives in the apartments above the market stalls and that he see's Sei sometimes. His name is Haruki. We talked for a while and I had to lie and tell him I was making soup out of the dried herbs I was buying, but it was still really nice.
Sei got fed up in the end and practically dragged me away so we could get back home before it got dark, but... I think I'm going to do my shopping in the market more from now on. Maybe we can meet Haruki again.

Ugh. I keep thinking about Haruki. I tried to get Sei to come with me to the market yesterday, but he wasn't biting. He knew right away that I didn't want to go shopping, and ever since I mentioned it he kept giving me this look. Ugh, the annoying cat.
Today though, Sei asked if I wanted to go out for ice cream. Of course, I agreed. But instead of going to the one in town, he leads me out across the forest! We ended up at the parlour at the end of the Market street, within view of the apartments Haruki said he lived in. He must have done something, the sneaky cat, because not long after we sat down to eat, Haruki walked by! He noticed us right away. How could you not notice the black cat sitting on the table licking his half-melted scoop of ice cream in a bowl.
He even came and joined us! Sei kept swishing his tail like the smug cat he is. He could have told me what he was planning! I would have worn my nice dress! But instead I had barely brushed hair, tied in a messy bun, and my gardening dress on. Complete with grass stains and dirt.
He's still teasing me! The jerk! He doesn't need to be so smug about it.
I'm grateful though... I really like Haruki. We exchanged numbers, so hopefully I'll be able to see him again soon. If not, I guess I can always beg Sei to do something like today again.

Kuroko wakes up warm. He can hear Seijurou in the kitchen and he smiles to himself, rolling over to where the bed is still warm from Sei's body heat. The butterflies are dancing around in his chest excitedly. 'Finally! Finally!' They cheer.
