What? Love!?
Kuroko stares at the familiar with wide eyes.
"You... Are in love with me?" He says in shock.
Sei nods.
"It would be more unnatural if I wasn't in love with you at this point. Loyalty to your family and your mother does not bring back the dead. I've violated several important laws to bring you back."
Sei's words are serious, but his tone is very nonchalant. He stretches his back and adjusts himself in the chair as Kuroko processes.
Kuroko swallows and looks down into his tea.
"Will you get in trouble for this?" Kuroko asks.
"Not if no one finds out." Sei says. Kuroko looks up at him, guilt and uncertainty twist in his stomach.
"What happens if they do?"
"No one will find out Tetsuya. I made sure to take every precaution while bringing you back. As long as you make sure not to mention it to anyone, we'll be just fine."
Kuroko is quiet for a moment as he thinks. It's not as if he could tell anyone even if he wanted to. This feels surreal enough to him, no one else would ever believe it.
"Then, what happens now?"
"You are free to go about the world as you did before. Attend class, meet your friends, finish reading that book you took out from the library a couple days ago. Continue to live as you were."
"...And you?" Kuroko asks, choosing not to think about how weird it feels to have a man he just met know everything about his life.
"I'll be right here, just as I was before. Only this time I'll be human."
"You're just going to sit in the apartment all day?" Kuroko frowns. "There's really no where else you would rather go?"
"Do you not want me here?"
"... I didn't mean it like that, just... why would you want to waste your last life here?"
"It's not a waste as long as you're here, Tetsuya."
The smile Sei gives Kuroko makes the blue eyed boy look away in embarrassment. He takes this time to busy himself with eating his toast.
"Tetsuya." Sei calls. Kuroko glances up at him quickly.
"What?"
"I will never leave you, Tetsuya." He says seriously, staring into Kuroko's eyes. Kuroko's blue orbs widen slightly in surprise as he stares back.
Sei stands from the chair and looks down at Kuroko with a look Kuroko can't decipher.
"Please remember that." Sei says before turning and walking into Kuroko's bedroom. Kuroko watches him go in surprise. Sei reappears a moment later and drops a pile of note books onto the coffee table next to Kuroko's plate.
"These are the notes from the classes you missed while you were asleep." Sei says, tone light once again. Kuroko raises his eyebrows at the notebooks.
"How did you...?"
"Read these while you rest and get your strength back. If you get hungry let me know and I'll make you something." Sei rests his hands on his hips and looks down at Kuroko. "Now that I'm in human form I don't have to sneakily do these things. From now on you won't eat another frozen dinner, I will cook whatever you want and do anything you want me to."
"O-okay... Thank you..." Sei nods and turns to walk into the kitchen, leaving Kuroko to read the notes he missed and finish his breakfast.
