I look upon a shaking form, her blonde hair clumped in knots, as though it hadn't been brushed in weeks. Her head is shuddering as deep brown eyes frantically search the spacious cave I'm standing in. Her twelve-year-old body is tied next to a drugged redhead. As she falls back into the ever going sleep, Ginger's eyes snap open as his gag is pulled wide with his screams when suddenly the cloth is violently torn off. I walk around the strange scene as I see dark purple bruises and burns scattered around his arms and face. I hear the young boys scream out as fire seeps into his pale skin.
I don't realize that I've been shaking until a small pot of powders is knocked off of the steel table placed on the cave's floor. Midnight blue eyes stared into by golden flecked eyes until suddenly I'm falling to the cave floor.
Suddenly I'm flailing and falling through a cavern of memories. I shudder as faces pass me, strangers, friends, family. Then, everything suddenly stops.
I'm gasping for air, my body covered in sweat, the bright purple sheets thrown over the side of my bed. My hands are flailing, not caring as the blue lamp next to me crashes onto the amber carpet below it. My brown eyes take in the scene in front as morning light seeps through the magenta blinds blocking out the light that would only add to my growing headache. I anxiously sit up rubbing my exhausted forehead. I know that it will kick in any moment now, it always does. And yet, I'm still worried when the thoughts of my "Family" float from the kitchen below me still float through the thick oak wood floors below me for a second longer than expected. My shallow breathing begins to even out as my mind is quiet for the first time through the night. I release a breath I wasn't aware I had been holding, leaning back to try and grab a few more short lived minutes of sleep before having to began my agonizingly long day of school. Just my luck I hit my head on the beadboard behind me, triggering a long groan to emit through my parted lips.
I roll out of my bed, grudgingly walking over to my closet of grays and blacks. The same closet of clothes that I had first noticed when I got here. I remembered waking up in the strange bed, and the immediate headache it brought. I remember the pounding in my head as I tumbled down the stairs, flailing as I looked at the worried face of the people surrounding me. I remember grasping onto memories of catching rides on beams of light, I remember large fields with strange animals and wrapping up in blankets to watch light shows. I remember throwing shoes at somebody's window and swimming through memories and thoughts with sharp edges. I had remembered raging through rivers of green water, and watching tidal waves being held up by one girl alone. and I remember beautiful teal eyes set into a face carved out of porcelain material. And then there was ice, shards of the sharp material slowly falling off a waterfall, frozen in the winter as water begins to erupt from it. Those beautiful icy eyes that held so much anger and sadness and yet they were always so warming and inviting. How they shifted from side to side as a plan of mischievous entered his mind. The way they would twitch lightly when something was getting too sensitive. Sophie knew that all those things were important to her, she just couldn't remember why.
