The next morning, Bria and the boy got up. Bria realized she didn't even know the boy's name. She didn't care yesterday and she didn't care much today. She couldn't stand to be in the same room as the guy for 3 minutes, how could she live with him for 4 years.
The boy did seem interested in Bria. When he came into the living room, after waking up, he saw Bria in the kitchen and making herself breakfast. "Make me any?" he asked, with a sly smile plastered on his face, knowing she would be annoyed with him.
"Does it look like it to you?" Bria smartly replied to him.
"Why yes it does!"
Right as Bria put her plate down with her food on it, the boy came up to it, snatched it off the counter, and ran to his room. Bria stood there with her mouth wide open trying to comprehend what just happened. She shrugged it off, thinking he would be gone in a few hours after they talked to the dorm advisor.
When they got to the office, the attendant sent them to the dorm advisor's office. The advisor, who's name tag said Larry, asked them, "How can I help you?"
"We were wondering why we have a dorm together. I thought girls are with girls and boys are with boys, "Bria said looking at the boy with a mad expression on her face. The boy gave her a smile.
The dorm advisor looked at his computer and said, "That's correct, but from the records, you both were last to register. There was only one dorm room left. You both had already paid your money, so we had no choice but for you both to share a dorm. We gave you two bedrooms for more privacy."
Bria looked away from both men, afraid to hear the answer and asked, "Are these dorms for the next 4 years?"
"Yes, "the advisor said trying to put on a fake smile to make Bria feel better. Bria saw right through his fake smile and saw his pity for her.
When they got back, Bria sat on the sofa. The boy sat next to her. "We'll get through this together, "he said softly.
Bria looked at him angrily and said, "Shut up! I don't even know your name. Besides, you're a distraction."
"How so?" the boy asked interested in Bria's last comment
"You are immature."
"I am only a distraction if you make me. Do you find me distracting?"
"Very!"
"Why?"
"Because..."
"Because what?"
"Because you make sex jokes!" Bria said looking everywhere but at him.
"Why can't you look at me and say that?"
"I don't know. I just don't want to look at you."
"Could it be because you find me attractive?" the boy asked with a smile.
"Of course not!" Bria practically yelled.
"Bryce," the boy said, turning Bria's chin so that she was looking her in the eyes, "My name is Bryce."
"Why tell me now?" Bria asked, confused.
"Because... you're someone special who deserves what she want," the boy said.
"And are you going to give me what I want?" Bria said smiling, almost laughing.
"Do you want me?" they boy replied with a question.
"No, I don't want people that insult and judge girls before they know them, "Bria said quickly as she rose from the sofa.
"I knew her name, "Bryce said smiling. Bria looked at him and rolled her eyes. She went to her room.
There was a knock at the door. All Bria heard was loud yelling coming from the living room. After about 10 minutes of that, Bryce knocked on Bria's door. Bria opened the door, she saw a boy sitting on the sofa. "Who's he?" Bria asked curiously.
"My best friend, Roger, "Bryce said, "he goes to school here. He missed registration yesterday. He is the caption of the local football team back home and they had the biggest game of the season yesterday, so he missed sign-up today because he was celebrating. He needs a place to stay until he can get into his dorm."
"Put him in your room 'cause he's not coming in mine, "Bria snapped.
Bryce sighed and said, "I am, but I need a place to sleep and I'm not sleeping on the sofa."
"Still don't understand how this relates to me, "Bria says in a bored tone.
"Can I sleep with you until he moves out?" Bryce says quickly.
"Aw, no, "Bria says annoyed.
"Please?" Bryce begs.
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Please?"
"For how long?"
"At least 3 days."
"I would have to sleep with you for 3 days!"
"Yeah, we would be forced to, but if you want, we can make the sleeping arrangements optional."
"Please stop with the sex jokes."
"I'll try to stop if you let me bunk with you."
"Fine." Bria had a feeling she was going to regret the decision she made.
