"Hey."A voice called out and I was pulled back by a very strong grip.
"Sorry about this, but by the looks of you, I don't think that much running is good for your health."
I was about to bite back and scream, until I was able to take a look at my captor.
Black hair, and piercing, glass-like, blue eyes.
He was able to cut me off without intending it.
He was right about one thing as a wave of dizziness passed through my body and I swayed dangerously.
"Steady..." He mumbled, helping me hold myself upright.
"Oh God... Thanks." I caught myself and managed to regain some semblance to alright as my eyes focused on him.
He gave me a crooked grin, one side of his mouth twitching upwards. "That's not my name, but i was told the resemblance is perplexing. You can call me Cassiel."
I snorted. Coming from a religious family, I could easily tell where he got his name.
"Like the angel?"
His grin widened, and he shrugged nonchalantly. "I'd like to consider myself as a holy being. Thank you very much."
I held out a hand, "Elena Valkyrie."
He shook my hand with a small laugh but his grip was firm.
"Tell me, Elena Valkyrie. What brings you here?"
And with one look from his eyes, I found myself telling him everything and anything. Not realizing that he, not even once, spoke about himself.
"But are you?" he asked and I raised a brow.
"Am I what?"
"Prepared to die?"
I let out a laugh at his blunt question, waving it off as a joke until realizing he was being serious.
"Well... To be honest, it scares me..."
He nodded in affirmation. "Only a fool would not fear death."
"Is that a compliment?"
He shrugged. "Take it as you will. It's your choice not mine."
And that was that.
For the next week, other than my parents and friends, Ignis and Cass would visit me. Strangely, they only seemed to appear when no one else was around, not even if the other was there which saddened me for I really wantd to see what would happen if I put both their intriguing characters in the same room.
