MC Island - A Minecraft Story

Chapter 7- Journey

Chassidy woke up uneasily. Her entire body was cold and sore, and for a minute she had forgotten where she was.

She felt the damp, cold stone beneath her and had trouble sitting up, he back so sore. She looked around the cave, still squinting at the sunlight shining through the opening in the cave.

Why is the cave entrance open, she wondered, slightly concerned.

Chassy wiped the tears from her scratched face and stumbled to her feet. She walked past Bryce, Haley, and Kevin, who were still asleep. Soon she was outside, listening to the birds chirp. She saw a chicken run by, clucking and cocking its head back and forth.

"What?" she mumbled to herself.

Followed by the chicken was Noah, swinging a sword around chaotically. He tried to hit the chicken with it but couldn't. He kept missing.

"Where did you get a sword?" Chassy asked.

"Tiffany made it," Noah stopped. "She made enough for all of us!" Noah posed with his sword for a second, then continued swinging the heavy weapon at the chicken.

"How did she make swords?" Chassy asked in amazement, sitting down on a large rock.

"I dunno, I guess she found some iron in the cave and she's got a fire going," Noah finally gave up. "She's melting it!"

"Swords should definitely help us from those zombies," Chassy said happily. "Where are they all anyways?"

"The sun came up, and they just burst into flames!"

By then everyone else had joined, wide awake.

"We should start looking for the front of the jet now," Bryce announced. Tiffany came from around the trees, carrying a bunch of swords.

"Hey," she said. She smelled of ashes and metal. "We need to get some food first, then we'll go." She began handing everyone a weapon.

"Alright," Bryce agreed. He was excited about his new sword. "What can we even eat?"

Noah reached down and picked up a sort of round, white object. It was an egg. It took a minute, but they all soon realized that they were everywhere.

"Eggs, perfect!" Tiffany said. "I can cook them over the fire."

After eating and feeling well fed, everyone set off to find the front of the jet. They knew it was somewhere on the island, they only didn't know exactly where it was. They past trees and several ponds. They were all exhausted and had been walking for hours. Soon enough, the sun began to set.

"We have to find some sort of shelter," Kevin said.

"There's no way we can find another cave," Chassy told him.

They were oblivious to what was ahead of them, unable to see in the dark. The large valley they were in was covered in high grass, leaving no warning to Kevin when he stepped into in air and fell.

"Kevin!" Chassy screamed. She spread her arms out, blocking anyone from walking any further, for right in front of them was a massive ravine.

Kevin fell and fell, screaming in fear until he splashed into a pool of water. He swam to the surface of the water and looked back up at everyone else.

"Kevin, stay right there and we'll get you get you back up here!" Bryce called to him. Bryce began to look around for something to help Kevin, but couldn't find anything, only another group of zombies coming toward him and his friends. Several skeletons were there too, nearly blending in with the zombies. They were holding bows, ready to shoot.

"Those skeletons have bows!" Haley cried.

An arrow flew right past Noah's head, and he knew right away there were too many monsters to fight. He knew what he had to do, so he grabbed Haley's hand.

"Jump!" He yelled.

He and Haley jumped off of the edge and into the deep ravine, splashing safely into the water. Tiffany, Chassy, Kevin, and Bryce followed behind. They were all soaking wet as they swam out of the water and onto the stone ground.

"What do we do now?" Haley asked in concern.

"We have to follow the ravine, maybe we can find a way out," Kevin said. He was squeezing his sleeves, trying to get some of the water out.

The group walked along the bottom of the ravine, no one saying a word. They continued to walk until the night turned to day.
