When your in the ER, anything you do is a achievement, from going to the bathroom, to walking your first steps. especially if you've been out for 3 and a half weeks.
Leas pov
"Post op patient Lea Bradley, had surgery on her right leg, stitches on her left, and a healing tailbone. She's been here for about a month and a half after a car crash." A short blonde stated proudly, hands behind her back.
"Did you tell them I almost died?" I joked, rolling my eyes at the lady.
"Lea, you look healthy, today were going to get you to try and walk how does that sound?" My nurse Amira asked, and I smiled at her.
"Finally!" I cheered weakly. I'd been awake for 6 days, and today they wanted me to try and walk with my cast. Simon walked in, a cup of water and a bagel in hand.
"I brought you something to eat." He cheesed, leaning in and planting a kiss on my lips. I thankfully took the bagel, biting into it with a damn passion.
"Marisa has a check up for the baby today, she wanted to know if you could come." Simon explained as I ate my food. I looked over at him, sending a bagel filled smile and nodded.
"She's gonna be ecstatic." He assured and I hummed.
"I wanna go home Simon." I whined, grabbing his hand and lacing our fingers. He traced his thumb over my hand, making small whimper noises.
"Baby steps love. We have to get you walking first." He whispered and I looked away, getting frustrated. The nurse came back in with a smile on her face, and I knew we were going to try.
"Okay, simon do you want to help her get out of bed?" Amira suggested and Simon nodded his head. He held his hand out for me, and all of a sudden a rush of nervousness pitted itself into my stomach. I sat up slowly, and he took my leg with the cast and slung it over the side of the bed. I took my other leg and placed it on the ground.
"Your gonna do great." Simon assured.
"I haven't walked in over a month." I whispered and he nodded, lifting me up with his good arm.
"Baby you'll do amazing." He pointed me lightly, making me squirm into him. I placed my foot down, gasping as it touched the cool floor for the first time.
"Okay lea, if you need to you can grip the bed. Try and walk to that chair." Amira points to the chair about 5 feet away, and I take it all in before nodding. I lift my foot up, leaving it in the air, scared to put it down.
"Take your time leals." Simon encouraged and I took a deep breathe, closing my eyes and setting it down, then the next. But before I could put my left foot down again, my right knee buckled, and I would have tumbled if simon and the nurse didn't catch me. I huffed disappointingly, letting my unwashed hair drop in front of my eyes. Simon rubbed my back and the nurse whispered that it'll be okay.
"Okay. Let's just try again." I spoke out and Amira nodded. I stood up shakily with their help, gripping onto their hands. I slowly walked forward, limping a little but getting to the chair in less than a minute and a half.
"You did great love." Simon said once the nurse left after our session.
"When's the appointment?" I asked and he checked his phone.
"In about 30 minutes. Want to see if we can get you a wheelchair?" He asked and I contemplated if I wanted one.
"Yes." I whispered defeated.
"You do have a cast on. We don't expect you to walk. We just want to try." Simon pointed out as he walked over to the other side of the room where a wheelchair sat in the corner quietly.
"Tob is in the cafeteria let's go there and meet him he wants to see you." Simon spoke up as he helped me into the chair. I nodded, happy to be able to see someone other than simon and the nurse. People have known I was awake but no ones visited me since.
"How come propel haven't came and seen me?" I asked sadly and simon stuck his Bottom lip out.
"Awe baby I don't know." He said in a high pitched voice, Making me giggle and roll my eyes. He pushed me along in the halls to the lift, nurses waving and surgeons staring at me.
"I wasn't some heart transplant why am I so important to look at?" I huffed and simon chuckled as he smashed his thumb into the 'down' button.
"Because your a famous model and youtuber love." He whispered and I gaped, remembering my job for once.
"Ive posed in underwear." I shrieked, which sent him into stitches.
"Stop laughing at your girlfriend." I whined and he giggled, bending down and planting a soft kiss onto mine.
"Still mad at you." I said, biting my lip, trying not to smile when he pulled away. We sat in the lift quietly, more like I sat and he stood, until it dinged and the doors opened up to a giant cafeteria. We looked around for Tobi until we seen him and Marisa sitting at the far table eating nandos.
"Of course you brought your own food." I retorted as we got closer and Tobi's eyes bulged out, a smile replacing his focused features that once bore his face. He jumped from his seat and ran to me, crouching down and hugging me tightly. It hurt my back, but it was Tobi and I didn't mind it too much.
"Lea I've missed you!" He shouted and people looked over and pointed, whispering things to their loved ones.
"I couldn't miss my god babies appointment." I rolled my eyes and he cheesed at me.
"This is the first one I've gone to. Her other one was while I was with simon." He admitted and it clicked that he was going to find out that there are twins today. I looked over to Marisa who had an eager expression on her face."Well let's get this show in the road."
