Jess's POV
I slept in for the past two days. I have three missed calls from Ciara.
*Ring Ring
"Hey" I heard her familiar voice through the phone.
"Hey babe" I smiled missing my best friend.
"I'm sorry for the calls I was just worried, are you okay?"
"Yea, I just haven't felt like myself for a while, it's okay tho."
"Okay then what's up?" she asked
"Nothing Drew got a new job in the neighborhood. He works at a coffee shop."
"Aww congratulations" she's so sweet.
"Thanks and I met a cute girl that lives across from us. She's the same age as us and goes to Rose View" that's a school me and Ciara first met and then transferred.
"Oh my God I want to meet her" she seemed too excited.
"Hey did anything happened while I was hibernating"
"Umm....."
"Ciara what happened?" I asked interested
"I got accepted to University of California, I get to go this summer to go see the campus. Ahhhhhh!!" She screamed through the phone.
"Congratulations babe I'm proud of you" that's the school she always wanted to go to.
"How's the baby?" I forgot I have a living thing growing in me.
"Actually I don't know I missed my appointment and forgot to reschedule, but my belly did grow a little" I said looking into the full body mirror in my bedroom.
"What are you doing?" I asked Ciara
"Catching up on the Fosters" she's all about that ABC Family life" (>> that's me<<)
"I feel light headed I'll call you later" I said grabbing the wall.
"Are you okay?" I can hear the concern in her voice
"Yea just give me a sec" right after that I fell to the floor. My vision became blurry.
"Jess are you there?" Ciara said through the phone. I couldn't reply my body became cold. I looked out my bedroom door and saw Emily's bedroom. Her huge teddy bear Drew bought her was on the floor facing me. I miss her laugh. I miss her smile. I miss her back talking. I miss her intruding in on me and Drew. I just really miss her. My eyes slowly got heavier and heavier. I soon fell asleep.
Drew's POV
"Jess open the door" I said for the fourth time. I looked for the keys in the plant next to the door. I ran in the house and found Jess lying on the floor of our bedroom.
"Jess wake up" Her skin was cold and pale. I have to take her to the hospital.
*Ring Ring
"Ciara come to the hospital, it's Jess" I said hanging up not waiting for a reply.
"Come right this way" the doctor told me as I picked Jess up bridal style.
"Babe wake up" I tried again. Nothing.
"Doctor she's pregnant" I told him and his face dropped.
"That's not good" he said. Like nooooo, she's fine. (Note the sarcasm)
"Umm we are gonna do some exams on her and we'll let you know"
"Let me know, no I need to be with her" I said standing up.
"I'm sorry no one is allowed to stay with her until we are done, the waiting room is over there or you can wait in her room." he said not making eye contact with me.
"Fine I'll wait in her room" I said pissed off.
"Oh my gosh what happened to her" Ciara walks in shocked. Jess almost looks dead.
"I don't know they are gonna go check and I'm not allowed to go with her." I said looking at the doctor.
"I'm sorry but that's the rules" the doctor told us.
He took her away and we waited in the room for about two hours.
"So what was the conversation you guys had about."
"Well we talked about you, my acceptance letter, the baby"
"No Ciara what did she say about how she felt"
"Oh sorry, she felt light headed, she sounded stress" Ciara couldn't even look at me.
"Ciara it's gonna be okay" I hugged her.
"What if she's not" she looked straight in my eyes with tears. I wiped them away from her face and said, "Hope for the best" she smiled and got up.
"Im gonna go get something to drink wanna come?" she said
"Nah I'm gonna wait" I looked at my hands.
*30 Mins Later
"Drew?" the doctor came in with Ciara right behind him.
"She's fine, she just hasn't had enough sleep, food, and the twins are taking up most of her energy" The doctor informed me.
"Wait twins?" This was a bitter sweet moment.
"Yes, congrats" Ciara answered.
"Does she know?" I asked
"No it's best to tell her when she goes home. It's Saturday you can take her home tomorrow" he signs a couple of papers. And leaves.
"Drew aren't you happy?" Ciara pats my back.
"Yea, but it just hit me I'm having kids, twins" I said happy but with a straight face.
"There she is" Ciara points at Jess in a wheel chair still asleep. The doctors were about to put her on the bed when I picked her up and put her there myself.
"I love you" I whispered in her ear before letting go.
