The pains started to get worse during the night, Anna wanted to ignore it but she couldn't. Anna screamed for her mother. Alyssa ran in her room grabbing the other oxygen tank and mask, and having her father carry her to the car.

"Everything is going to be okay, alright pumpkin?" Her father kissed her forehead and quickly got into the passenger seat of the car.

When they got to the emergency part of the hospital, Brad ran into the hospital and tried to get some help. "My daughter!! She needs help!!" One of the nurses ran out with Brad pushing the gurney up to the doorway. Brad unlocked Anna's car door side and opened it, picking her up gently and putting her on the gurney.

Alyssa joined Brad as they both ran into the hospital with the nurse. Doctors joined the nurse and the nurse told the doctor quickly what was happening, they all went back to work on Anna while they wait in the waiting room.

"You think she'll be okay?" Brad looked into Alyssa's eyes, tears were forming in her eyes. "She will be, she's our warrior and our warrior has to fight."

Hours later the doctors finally let Brad and Alyssa see their daughter. They walk in slowly seeing their daughter hooked up to a machine that's helping her breathe, "Oh sweetie!!" Alyssa rushed up to Anna's side. Anna was sound asleep the machine beeping and breathing for Anna.

"See honey, she's fine. She's our little fighter."

The doctor walks in with a clipboard. "Are you Anna's parents?"

"Yes, we are."

"Well, your daughter has to stay here for a while. There is some fluid in her lungs and her tumor is taking a pretty good amount of her energy that she is getting tired more. If you rather not have her stay in here then we can set up something where we can have you guys come in ever few weeks or so."

Alyssa and Brad look at each other and then back at Anna. "It's fine, she will have to miss school and that but a few days won't hurt her that much."

"Alright then, do you guys want anything to eat? I know you want to stay by Anna's side for most of the night."

"No, were good. Thank you, though."

The doctor nodded and walked out of the room, Anna's machine is still beeping at a good pace.

Alyssa pulled a chair over by Anna's bedside and sat down, she stretched her hand out and grabbed Anna's hand. They cuddled for the rest of the night.

In the morning Xavier and Hannah stopped by Anna's hospital room to see how she was doing. "Hello? Is anyone awake?" Hannah said as she opened the door slowly. Anna's parents on chairs next to Anna's bed. "Good morning Hannah," Alyssa said, she scooted her chair over so they could sit down.

Brad mouthed one word to Xavier, 'get out now before I call security'. Xavier shook it off. This was his girlfriend in the hospital bed and he didn't mean to put her here or slap her. She was the one who was not listening to him and usually when his siblings or cousins are not listening he slaps them. (I know that's harsh) Brad got up and walked out the door, Xavier knew he might be getting the security to take him out of the room.

The doctor told the family that Anna could go home, but she couldn't go back to school until a couple weeks after she gets more chemo. The chemo is helping somewhat but they still have to pray that it would take all of the bad nasty things away. They packed up everything and woke up Anna.
"Anna, sweetheart Hannah is here, she wants to see you. We can go home now too."

Anna opened her eyes and made a small smile at Hannah. "What's up girly?" Hannah said helping Anna sit up. "Nothing much, the pain is gone and well, I can breathe somewhat by myself."

Hannah hugged Anna, Xavier sitting in the corner of the room. Anna's eyes fall on Xavier, she was shocked but scared that he would do something else to her.

"Why are you here?"

"I'm here to apologize, I shouldn't have
done what I did and I love you. I know your father is now very upset about me coming back into your life, but you're my rock. Your my girl, the only one that I want to spend every single day up to the day I have to say goodbye with."

Hannah steps out of the way for Xavier to help Anna walk to the car, "Your the person I want to be with, Anna."

Brad growled under his breath, Alyssa hit him on the back of the head. "Come on Brad, give her a break." He nodded and joined them all as they walk to the car.

"I want you to have this."

Anna reached into her sweatshirt pocket to pull out a locket with a football charm on it. "Since when did you get this?" Xavier said taking the necklace out of Anna's hand.

"When I first found out I had cancer, I got it because you were my friend at the time and I thought that you would love it. Then you moved away so I never got to tell you how much I missed you or give you this necklace."

Hannah helped Xavier put the necklace on and he opened up the locket to a picture of Xavier and Anna as kids eating cupcakes and another picture of their first high school dance together. "Babe, this is amazing!! I love it!!"

Hannah leaned over to whisper something into Xavier's ear. "You hurt her again, Xavier, and I will make sure that you can never talk or play football ever again."

Anna giggled, "Are you throwing threats at my boyfriend, Hannah?"

"I have to!! He already hurt you once, I don't want him to hurt you again." They all stuffed into Anna's parent's car and drove back to Anna's parent's house, Anna opened her backpack up and grabbed a diary from her backpack and started to write in it.

March 27, 2017

Life has been a wacky road, the one thing I've learned is to live it to the fullest. Just because I have cancer and I know that someday I'm not going to wake up ever again, it's heartbreaking. Not being able to see my friends, boyfriend or my family members ever. It breaks me, I hope that once I'm gone that my parents find this diary and keep it close to them.

It's going to be the last thing they have left of me when I'm gone, cancer the devil that breaks families and friends. I didn't think I would have to go soon but now that I know, I don't care about my education. All I care about is how I live out these few days or weeks or how many months I have a life. I know you would too.

Thanks for being you!!

Anna
