Chapter 18
A diary...
A thought...
A moment...
A confession...
Everything is written there like telling my story, my life.
Still I move on to the next day, early morning I was eating my favorite cereal with warm milk. Surprisingly my mother has the day off, it has been ages.
So..." She started to say, while she was setting up the coffee maker.
I looked up in surprise from my cereal. Chewing slowly and giving a thought what kind of pill has she been taking.
"So?" I asked suspiciously, chewing slowly.
"How are you with Damien?" She said taking a seat in front of me. She started to massage her temples, she looked way older than her age.
"It's great." I said truthfully "Mom, are you fine?" Looking at her very carefully her eyes looked loopy with sleep, dark bruises shown under her eyes.
"Just tired." She said yawning loudly, while stretching out her arms.
"Oh, you should take a nap." I suggested not knowing what to say after.
"I will, since I have to go back at ten." She said getting up from the table, preparing her coffee.
"You should finish your cereal. Isn't Damien going to pick you up, like he always does." She said glancing at the clock in the oven. It was fifteen minutes before eight.
I jumped up from my seat in a flash of light. "Darn I'm going to be late for school!" I screeched collecting my bag.
What happen to Damien? He would always texted me saying that he's outside waiting for me.
Opening the door I shiver as the icy wind entered the house. I looked upon across the street to see the driveway empty. His motorcycle nowhere to be seen.
Darn, than I guess I'll have to take the bus. Well since my poor car was being fixed.
"I'll take you." I looked back to see my mother, her car keys in a hand already.
"Mom, you don't need to you should rest." I insisted. Not wanting to drive to have another awkward car ride with her.
"I insist besides, there's something important I need to tell you." She said seriously already outside.
Once in the car, she started the engine and backed out of the driveway into the street.
I faced her. "What was you needed to tell me." I said nervously.
My mother sighed deeply her stern eyes on the road. "It's about your father." She said her eyes glanced at me for a second and then her eyes swept onto the street.
"What about him?" I said knowing what this conversations was getting into.
"He wants you to visit him." She said
"Why can't he come here?"
"You know very well his wife is pregnant and can't travel to far distance." She replied stopping at a red light.
"She is his girlfriend an no I won't visit him anytime soon." I said firmly crossing my arms across my chest.
"Nina, he misses you-" She said as the light turned green.
