Chapter 20

These past weeks went out as a blur next thing I knew, It was spring break.

Finally.

So has these past weeks has Damien been the perfect before as I had recalled. He has been spending the majority of his time with Ruby. Sure he would send me text messages on how I was, but that soon began to dim.

There were times where Damien would invite me to hang out in the movies or at the mall. Though I always declined his invitation, since Ruby was always around him.

God, she's like a cancer that can't never go away.

Not only did she take Damien away from me, but she has my friends in an iron grip. Fine she can have Damien, I don't care. My friends? Well That's a different story.

I tried to understand on how everybody seems to love Ruby. Even my community and the whole school seemed to adore her. I recall back at school, I hear students and teacher talk greatly about her. She's been here less than a month and she has gained great popularity among them. I soon found my answer Ruby is a happy, kind, and always lending a happy hand to everyone.

Here I am on a Saturday night finally alone, laying on my bed at home. Stress free Alone?

"Yes alone." I said to myself. No more in fussing about what to wear on a date with Damien. I don't have to put my charade on being the perfect girlfriend anymore. No more make up, no more endless sleepless nights.

I'm finally free!

The beautiful reality made me jump out of the bed and went straight to my closet. I ranked out the clothes from its hangers and threw it out around me, jumping from happiness.

Freedom! No more drama, no more , no more... "Free!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

I felt like I was on steroids as I repeated the words again and again. I was just running towards downstairs barefoot when I caught myself off balance. Next thing you know I found myself rolling down the stairs, landing flat face on the cold hard ground.

The impact was unbearable, the pain exploded throughout my body like fireworks. The worst was the face, I felt warm blood coming out of my nose, and my face felt inflamed. Moaning in pain, I tried to get up with the help of the rail. I looked upon to see my phone that was in my hand shattered in the corner.

I moaned some more when I took my shattered cell in my hands and it was far from impossible to be fixed. This wasn't the first time I had my phone shattered into a million pieces.

No! I was expecting a message from Ethan! Ugh, I'll just have to wait for Spring Break to be over so I could see him again.

Well I can always just go to Bookoff his work place... Yes! Brilliant idea Nina, stalking him would make you look like a creep.

I guess I'll just have to wait... Once I cleaned out the mess with each move pain would shoot right through me. After taking a hot long shower the phone house rang. Moving carefully yet sprinting downstairs, I pick up the phone knowing it was my mother checking in and probably why wasn't I picking up my phone.

"Mom, I accidentally dropped my phone and it shattered. I think-" I started to say

"Why, how's my red velvet?" Said a voice that clearly wasn't my mother's I swear by the sound of his voice I felt like everything froze in place. I couldn't breath, his voice I could known from anywhere.

"Hello Nina?" Ethan said.

"Ethan?" I said still not able to grasp that he was the one I was talking to. After two long years not having to talk to him long hours on the phone. Remembering we would stay up all night to talk, my mother irritated of my laughter while I was on the phone with him. That she finally got me a cell phone, finally.

"Yes its Ethan Ford and I hear that you broke your phone... again." He broke into laughter.

"Hey! This isn't funny! I thought you were my mom!" I hollered at him.

"No, I was just remembering the last time you broke your phone..." He said. His laughter made the phone crackled a bit. Next thing I knew I was laughing along with him. Oh the good times we use to have.

"Hey, I called you if you get still up to the together date." He said his voice stilled filled with amusement.

"Date?" I exclaimed, not knowing if Ethan was playing some sort of game with me. I did not like biegn fooled nor played at especially when Ethan is starting to come back to my life.

"Um- No since we haven't been out together for a long time..." You mean a very very long time! I wanted to shout at him.

"We should do a 'Get-Together'. He explained. In response I was relief, knowing that he wasn't playing with me. My mind screamed to say No! at him, yet I yearned his company, the long talks we would have on the beach.

"Sure why not? Where do you suggest we go out." I asked carefully.

"How about going to *Bella Terra." He asked. Bella Terra is one of my favorite places to be its a shopping plaza yet it shows luxury. There are fancy restaurants, salons, organic supermarket, a theater and anything you can think of. A smile spread across my face thinking all the places we can go, together.

"Sure, when?" I asked

"How about on a Monday? Since we're out for Spring Break." he suggested.

"Sure at one? I asked, feeling the excitement bubbling I wanted to jump out and scream in happiness.

"Yes, I'll pick you up at your house."

"Bye see you soon." I said.

"See you." He replied back and I hang up.

This moment was the moment I have been waiting for long two years. Ethan is back in my life better than I have bargain for.

Hello Ethan, goodbye Damien.
