SMASH!
CRASH!
SLAM!
As you can probably tell, my dear Aunt Brank is not a happy camper this evening.
Shes already smashed every piece of crockery this side of London, all vases in England and knocked over the more expensive cupboard in the drawing room.
'Cursed! She's cursed! Every man to come within five yards of the girl has vanished! This is a disaster! What are we to do?!'
'You! Will cease this infernal disregard for my property or I shall display a similar disregard for something else of mine in this room!' Commanded my dear uncle Bufford. There was a sudden silence from down the hall where the commotion had originated. A very large lack of smashing and crashing indeed.
Ella and myself had perched ourselves at the top of the stairs as soon as we heard of our uncles decent from his study. Such a rare occasion as this was not to be missed.
'I do not care for the matter. Punish the girl if you see fit but I will not have anymore of this overindulgence!'
'You don't care?!' She shrieked. Poor uncle Bufford. 'You don't care?! Don't you see? She will never marry! Not after this. This makes four suiters! Three of which she had announced being engaged too! No man is stupid enough to go near her after this. No, she will become a spinster and drain the money from us until your demise!'

Now. I should probably clarify. Since my return from the jungle, aunt Brank saw fit to auction my hand off to absolutely everyone and anyone available. Two men in particular were victims of her will. Though they seemed willing enough. I was the real victim.
The first gentleman had declaired he fell in love at first sight. We had met at a ball, one of Sir Philips little shindigs, so not surprising really. They must have been close friends.
With great encouragement (threats) from my loving aunt I accepted his hand after only knowing the insufferable man for three hours and two minutes.
The man worked fast, what can I say?
We had used the engagement time to get to know each other more. This did not turn out how either of us expected.
I had spent an entire week sweating through my tails believing I was to be wed at the end of it. It affected my health! My sanity! And most importantly, my work! The man was a nincompoop and I was sure he wasnt truly into women. His mannerisms were quite peculiar and I'm positive I saw him check out a few bottoms of the male variety once or twice. Don't get me wrong, each to their own and what not. But to force me to endure an obedience oath with not even the hope of carnal activities at some point was just plain selfish.
Luckily for me, fate and my guardian angel swept in and took him away. I don't know how and I dont know why but one evening we were out for a stroll in the park. I looked one way for four seconds and when I looked back in his direction, POOF! He was nowhere to be seen. Ever. Again.
