"You should be alright" Caitlin said with a smile. "Just a hairline fracture. It'll heal in no time."

She released Barry's hand and gracefully walked back towards her desk.

Examinations from Caitlin were always soothing part of Barry's day. It reminded him how important she was to the team.

Often times there was a tug in his gut that caused that feeling he got when around her.

Of course, he respected everyone who was part of Team Flash, but Caitlin was special.

Barry glanced at her, his eyes full of admiration.
"Thanks, Cait." Hesitantly, he added "You're the best."

Caitlin flashed him a smile which sent a wave of warmth over him.

Barry developed butterflies in his stomach. Ever since that karaoke night with Caitlin, something sparked between them. Yes, that was long ago but he didn't want to rush a potential relationship. Their friendship was already powerful.

However, the longer he waited, the more it bothered him. He held back only because Barry wanted Caitlin to be comfortable rather than shocked, about the way he felt towards her.

So, from time to time he dropped hints. Compliments, kind gestures, and help throughout the workday.

This internal conflict that Barry was experiencing eventually lead to a reveal.

His confession.

You may describe it as impulsive or, unanticipated.

Even perfectly, imperfect would cover it.

So it begins.
