Sans Pov

I rushed to the ruins as fast as I could,  I don't know why I didn't teleport, but it's too late now, I've arrived at the ruins, I rush through the gate and down through the corridors avoiding the traps and the other monsters that hide in here, one room to go, I slwed down and entered the other room not wanting to give off my presence, but no one was there, but there was blood, lots of it. I looked around, no sign of anyone, then I noticed a small but identifiable scorch mark on the ground "Toriel" I said as I rushed to the only house located inside the ruins, a few turns and more traps later, I found myself in front of the door, I didn't hesitate I rushed through and called for Toriel who came rushing out to hush me explaining that the child she found in the ruins was sleeping and that they had been injured, but she had healed them. I breathed a sigh of relief "Thanks Tori, don't know what I would have done if they'd gotten killed by that demon Chara, I should have been there to protect them." I said my head down facing the floor, in my head I was cursing myself for not being there, "it's not your fault Sans, bringing a human to the underground is forbidden after all, so do you want to tell me why you did, and why you seem to want to protect the child so?" She asked curious why I was showing an interest in anything after so long. I breathed out and composed myself, "she's a true pacifist Tori, she gave up all thoughts of fighting to learn the ways of pacificial magic, when her parents found out that she wouldn't kill me in the arena, she was attacked by them, she swore on her life she would never hurt anyone while defending herself from their attacks, she showed me the requirements to learn the magic she possesses, she's sacrificed so much, all she wants is for everyone to live together in peace.. But if any of the boss monsters find out about her.. I'll protect her with everything I have, cause they won't hesitate to attempt to kill her.. Again thank you for saving her Tori." I expressed my gratitude while explaining what happened, "she's very strong for someone so young, the wound she sustained was already partially healed by the time I healed her. It's nice to see you doing something for once, Sans, and something so selfless too, just promise me you won't let her face Asgore alone" she explained to me about Frisk's powerful healing capabilities and asked that I prevent Asgore from ever getting to her alone which I agreed to with a pun, I'll keep an "eye socket" on her" I winked after my pun and Tori burst into laughter, I could have sworn I heard a snort there too, but she'd never admit it even if she did.

Toriel Pov

Sans left shortly after arriving explaining that he needed to prepare for when the child wakes up, I sat down in my recliner near the fireplace and started to flip through a few of my cookbooks hoping to find something the child might like once she woke up, then I realized Sans had never told me the child's name, I figured I would find out her name eventually and let the thought slip from my mind, I flipped through the cookbook some more and found something that looked good and didn't include snails.

Frisk Pov

I woke up in a bed I didn't recognize, Chara wasn't anywhere to be seen but I was still wary, what were they? They seemed human at first but no monster or human has ever been able to pass through my barrier before.. That claw was bad too, it really hurt.. I frowned and checked my side,  but there was no wound, not even a mark, just normal healthy skin, I looked at it confused for a bit, then a scent caught my attention, a piece of pie set on a nightstand by the bed I was on, then my stomach grumbled, I hadn't eaten breakfast, I was in such a rush after what Chara had told me that I'd completely forgotten about it, the alluring scent of the pie made it hard to think, my stomach rumbled louder, I gave in and ate the pie, it was some kind of butterscotch and cinnamon pie, but it tasted so good!
After I finished eating the pie my stomach quieted down and I walked out of the room and into a hallway, I headed to the right first, i could hear a fireplace and was just going to warm up a bit, the room was quaint, there was a table in a corner of the room, a recliner, and a bunch of snail recipe books above the fireplace,  a noise in the next room caught my attention, someone was cooking something in the kitchen and it smelled really good, I thought to myself that maybe the pie wasn't enough after all and walked into the kitchen, I saw a monster wearing a long purple coat, they had long white ears that looked really fuzzy and warm, and when they turned around they gave me a big smile that filled me with a warm feeling of safety. "Hello child, my name is Toriel, I saw you get attacked by that demon, and rescued you, would you like something to eat?" She was so kind I smiled back and nodded my head, the monsters I've met have been so kind, I couldn't tell why my parents and all the other humans hated them so much.. I sat down and Toriel bowl of soup in front of me, I took a sip from my spoon and squealed in delight, it was so good I asked for seconds, Toriel seemed happy that I enjoyed her cooking, and happily handed me a second helping, "my child, what is your name?" She asked after I was finished eating. "My name's Frisk, thank you so much for everything Toriel!" I replied with as much thankfulness as I could muster, she told me I could call her mom, which I agreed to, she was so kind and loving, I felt really safe here, but I could tell that I couldn't stay, I had to help all of the monsters down here in the underground.
