ONE LAST FIGHT

"U-undyne!?" I couldn't believe it, the leader of King Asgore's royal guard, Undyne, was blocking any chance of me fleeing and I was about to die, I returned to my normal form and cowered "please don't kill me.."

Undyne

"Alphys?" Looking at the monster in front of me, after they returned to their normal form I could recognize them as one of my friends from childhood, I'd heard they had become a very powerful scientist/inventor, but I never thought they would be the Creator of Mettaton, even I had trouble when I had to go against that robot. "Sans, wait! They've already given up, look how scared they are! If you attack them now, you'll be no better than the humans on the surface." I could tell that struck a nerve somewhere, but he eventually calmed down and I was able to help Alphys up, "it is you, isn't it Alphys?" I'd recognize that cute yellow face from a mile away, but I never knew Alphys could shapeshift.

Flashback many many years ago

"Undyne, we have a new child coming to join us today, she had a life in the human city before the humans decided to discard her, I want you to greet her and show her around, help her to get back on her feet, I believe she's still in shock so go easy on her"
The monster caretaker said as she appointed Undyne as the co-caretaker, "Yes ma'am, I will help them to get used to life outside of the city"Undyne replied before walking outside, where two humans stood guard in front of what looked more like a cage than any kind of transport Undyne had ever seen from the humans, this enraged her, and she felt an icy feeling deep in her core, "are you the caretaker here?" One of the humans asked, "no, I'm the co-caretaker, I'm here to help the new monster adapt to living in the village" Undyne replied without missing a beat. "I didn't hear anything about a co-caretaker, bring the caretaker to us or we will not open these doors, don't play games with us." The humans were being overly rude and Undyne was losing her patience by the minute, she grabbed the Caretaker's badge that she had made specifically for her and showed it to the two humans guarding the doors. "This is the badge of the caretaker, I am the co-caretaker, now open the doors so I can start helping the monster inside at once" Undyne announced with a hint of anger in her tone, she was nearly at her limit on patience, one of the humans smirked, and looked to the other who smirked back, "look kid, taking that tone with us is a big mistake, so if you don't wanna get hurt you're gonna run along and get the caretaker for us or we're gonna get rough with ya." Undyne had heard enough, she lost her patience "arrogant jerks!" Undyne yelled as she kicked both humans into the door they were guarding, they both fell to the ground unconscious and probably wouldn't remember what hit them, Undyne grabbed the keys and opened the doors, she saw Alphys in the corner, she had been crying and looked broken, it was hard to see anyone like that, it was as though her entire spirit had been crushed instantly, Undyne held out her hand and called to the monster girl, "hey! I'm Undyne, the co-caretaker of monsters in this village! You won't be harmed here so come with me and I'll show you around!" The warm smile that Undyne had given her made Alphys stand up, she took Undyne's hand and followed along with her while Undyne explained and pointed everything out. Alphys couldn't help but admire Undyne's fearless attitude and wanted to be just like her, the next few weeks Alphys and Undyne were inseperable, they became great friends quickly, but when the monster, Gaster, betrayed the humans trust and gave all the monsters magic, they were separated, Undyne becoming the leader of the Royal Guard for King Asgore, and Alphys, Steeling her heart towards everyone especially humans.

Flashback Ends

She still wasn't responding, Sans had already gone back to check on Frisk, who was talking to Mettaton, she had a smile on her face so I was sure she was fine. "Alphys, it's really me, Undyne, the one you became really close to on the surface, who saved you from those humans, won't you answer me?"

Alphys

Undyne was trying to calm me, and it was working really well, but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to look at her, I was a failure, and in her face that's all I would be, after we'd gotten so close as friends on the surface and now I'm just a lousy inventor who was betrayed by her own robot, I sighed and gathered courage and stood up not facing Undyne "I lost to the human, her tricks have fooled not only you, but even my own creation, Mettaton." I said with a dissapointed tone, as I looked over at the robot picking up Frisk and swinger her around in it's arms, the giggle and laughter sounded so real, so warm, but I know that she's faking it, there's no way there's a good human from the surface.. "Alphys, it's not a trick, and there's no magic involved, Frisk uses pacificial magic, she signed away all aggression, or even will to fight or harm anyone in return for great healing, pacifist magic, even her barrier is pacificial, it's really amazing what she's doing, so you should trust her like we do, she would never harm anyone, not even the king."

Alphys

"A-after all that humans have done to you and I, you expect me to just trust one human, just like that?! No way, I'm going back to my lab and will have no part in this, the king will kill her anyways, no one has ever beaten him, not even the humans who got past the barrier! They were all vaporized by his magic, she doesn't stand a chance!" I shouted angrily at Undyne before stomping off to my lab, but a hand grabbed my coat and stopped me, "w-wait! I'm sorry for whatever the humans have done to you and you don't have to trust me, but it would really help me if you know a faster way to the king's palace, please, I just want to make things right for the monsters, who were so wronged by humans!" The human announced, she had said those words so selflessly, how could I not believe her, but I still had my doubts.. "Just go through that door, and go straight, you'll be at the King's Palace in no time if you do.."

Frisk

I looked at the door and then back to Alphys and hugged her "thank you so much!" I shouted in cheer, Alphys struggled out of my hug and ran away, her face looked red, I hope she's alright. "She'll be Alright, she's just going back to her lab to cool off, you did good though Frisk!" Undyne shouted, I ran up to Sans & Undyne and we stopped at the white door, "one last fight.. Then it's all over.."
