"Mark! Are you even listening to me?!" I almost shout through my phone. Silence is the only response I receive.
"Huh? Sorry I was talking to Kathryn. What did you say?" I roll my eyes and sigh a little.
"I said, can I stay at your place for a few days? I'm on spring break and was really wanting to stay in LA for a bit since I never get to see you." I suggest.
"Are you sure Mom would want you to spend your break here and not Cincinnati?" He asks and I can hear my mother's voice in my head, asking me multiple times to come home for break. Eventually, I compromised and told her I would stop there for a night on my way home.
"She said she understands and I didn't get to spend time with you at Christmas since I had to stay on campus." I hear him take a deep breathe and think before replying.
"Uh, yeah. Sure. You can stay on the couch or in one of the guys' rooms. I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving it up." Mark hestitates but chuckles slightly, and I smile instinctively. His laugh had that effect on people.
"Ok thank you. I'll be at your house in..." I pause to find the time. "About half an hour."
"Um... excuse me?" I hear the confusion and suspicion in his voice. I let out a laugh before offering an explanation. "I flew out two days ago and was staying with Nate. I'll only stay a few days with you guys. "
"Hold on, what if we weren't in town? What if I said no? You didn't know what I was going to s-" I interrupt him quickly. "Ok, ok, ok. Love you, see you in a bit. Bye!"
I turn my phone off and turn towards Nate to see him laughing. We had gone out to lunch and I had forgotten to call Mark before we left.
"You could have told him before you got to LA." I shoot him a glare before I look around for our waitress, trying to get the bill. "Just saying."
"If I had told him before, he probably would have given me the same excuse he always does. 'I'm super busy and I wouldn't be around to give you attention.'" I say using my fingers as air quotes.
"I'm suprised he said yes. I've only asked about a million times. You know, I think I've only met one of his roommates like once."
Nate raises an eyebrow and gives a smug look. "The one that you thought was pretty cute from the videos?" I blush slightly before nodding my head.
"I had to do research to see if the bastard was good enough to stay with my brother." I wave down our waitress and ask for a check. She nods and goes off to grab it.
"Uh huh. Research." Nate gives me a wink and I lean over the table to punch his arm. He rubs his bicep slightly but doesn't drop the smug smile. "Well... he was pretty cute. You wanna get his number for me?"
My jaw drops and Nate starts laughing loudly. Loud enough for people start looking in our direction. "Oh you're just using me now, huh? Well for that, you can pay for lunch. And drop me off at Mark's because I don't feel like getting an uber or cab."
He rolls his eyes but nods as he slips two 20 dollar bills under the bill and stands. I stand as well and we make our way out of the restaurant, still giggling at the people shooting us glares as we walk out.

"Thanks for letting me stay. I'm really glad I got to see you two again." I smile and give Nate and his boyfriend hugs. They both return the smile as I lug my bag out of the back seat.
"If you ever want to stay with us again, you're always welcome. Have fun and... get that guys number." Nate stage whispers the last bit to me and winks.
