Erica
It was lunch time.
I peered around the school playground, taking in the scenery and the livelihood emitted from all of the other students. Some were playing football; others were running around in a game of IT or whatever. I tutted at everyone else’s happiness and changed the song on my iPod; Drake's soothing voice sounded though my earphones. I decided to leave only one earphone in to ensure that I could still hear the conversation going on between Ravyn, Armani and Taylor. Although, as usual, they had nothing sensible to talk about. I began to think of Grey Eyes and where he could possibly be. It was never this hard to track him down; today he wasn't sat on the far wall on the other side of the playground. This meant that he could be anywhere. I hadn't even seen or spoken to him since our 'relations' the previous week. After scoping the playground one last time I sighed in defeat and focused on my iPod once again.
"Who was you looking for?" Armani asked looking directly at me.
"Isn't it obvious? Brandon." Ravyn answered before I could. I bit my lip nervously. Was it really that noticeable? Armani laughed.
"Should've known. You 2 are like batty and bench." My eyebrows dropped.
"Maybe they're back together." Taylor suggested.
"Are you?" Ravyn questioned. I peered at her blankly. I actually wouldn't know how to answer such a question. I didn't know if Grey Eyes and I was an item, we had never even spoken about it. All I knew was that I loved him, deeply. I had no clue if he felt the same way, he wasn't the kind of person to express his emotions - or say what he was feeling.
"No... we're not." I said after a long while. They all watched me silently, until Taylor smirked.
"She's lying." She claimed. I tutted and they all laughed.
"If you're looking for him, he's down by the boy’s gym." Armani informed. I turned to her.
"He's never inside during lunch times." I pointed out.
"I saw him 5 minutes ago," she shrugged, "there's a first time for everything." I sighed and immediately stood up.
"I'll be back." I said.
"N'aww, the batty's about to find its bench." Taylor gave a mischievous wink and Ravyn hi-fived her. I shook my head before heading off inside the school building. I made it to the gym in record time (I don't think I've ever sped-walked so fast in my entire life). I entered the changing rooms and covered my nose immediately. The extreme stench of body odour, perspiration and God knows what else clouded my nose as soon as I had stepped through the door. I checked each shower thoroughly and the cubicle's at the back.
No sign of him.
I frowned and turned to leave but stopped in my tracks when I heard a loud thud. I froze and spun around in the direction the sound came from. The gym. The thud was heard again. I stepped closer to the entrance and leaned against the wall. The thud sounded a third time, then a ball bounced on the flooring. I stepped even closer and peered around the corner of the wall. Grey Eyes was stood there wearing his gym attire. Bouncing a basket-ball as he watched the basket-ball net. I stared curiously; surprised that he was the only one inside at the moment. This wasn't like him at all. He took a shot and scored, causing the ball to rebound off the wall and bouncing back towards him. He retrieved the ball effortlessly and began to bounce it again, ready to take another shot. For some reason, the mere sight of him warmed my heart. He was the only one who could make me smile without even doing anything; I was happy to see him. I approached him quietly and stood behind him. He took another shot and scored again. I cleared my throat and he turned his head to view me. I gave a weak smile.
