Ch. 66 Puppy Sneezes

Meadow's POV:

I don't even know what to say of this gathering. There were so many werewolves and ookamis.

Yet I haven't seen the alpha of my pack, but I know he's here, I can somehow feel his presence. Besides that, Lloyd's been walking off with other people, twice now, it feels kinda lonely without him or Luna......

I sigh, which was for about the 10th time. I'd be surprised if anyone heard me, the music was so loud, I'm probably going to get a headache. But Cole saw my face, he knew something was up.

"Hey, what's up? You're looking really down now." He led me away from the others onto the benches on the side of the gym.

"I-I don't know I'm just not feeling it you know......"

"Yeah....." I looked at him confused. His eyes got big when he realized what he said.

"I-I mean, er, you know when I, I mean you uh I mean.....those times, r-right?" Cole never stuttered like that. That means something was up not just feeling sad but something else, something he was hiding. Then I realized something.

"Oh no.....does this have to do with your dad? And dancing? You mentioned it a while back and I was kind of confused." He looked shocked. That was it. Then his face softened a little.

"Fine.....yes but I don't want to talk about it now, besides me what about you? I-is it alright if I ask you something?" he looked down at his feet. I nodded a bit insecure.

"You're part wolf, so is it possible that you.......call you're ahem 'match' your mate? It's a stupid question I know......." (That was a really hard word to write.....) His face looked red and honestly I was blushing too from this sudden question. I cleared my throat.

"W-well, when there's an alpha male, they choose their alpha female which is probably the Alpha's mate. I-I'm not sure about other wolves though since I've never really dated anyone. So you might want to ask the others, if they won't get offended by being asked by one of their own kind." I tried explaining the best I could.

"Nah, it's best if I asked you. I know you would probably not try to eat me alive for asking this. And what do you mean by 'their own kind'?" I noticed something off about his ears but shrugged it off.

"You're a wolf now, remember?" He nodded remembering that small detail. Then I saw his ears fade.

"Cole, where's that potion?" I panicked and pointed to his ears and he reached to touch them but his fingers went through it.

He scrambled to get out his spray bottle from inside his jacket. He sprayed it on the back of his hand. The smell tickle my nose and I sneezed.......

"Aww you sneeze like a puppy. It's cute." I tried to brush off my blushing but then I sneezed again.

"I seriously need to get this on tape." he got out his phone out on video record.

"What are the chances that I'll sneeze ag-" I got cut off by me sneezing again, this time he recorded it.

"Wait until I show the others...." He smirked.

"N-no!! Y-you can't!! P-p-please?!" I stuttered myself I wouldn't know what I'd do if others knew how I sneezed, much less that Cole said it was cute. He's always so stubborn. I felt my face heat up.

"Fine. I wouldn't want my best friend to hate me." I sighed in relief but then I heard something.

"All wolves gather around!!!" I stood up to follow where everyone else was going. Flare, Clare, and other leaders of their seats up on a stage that was set up.

"Tonight during the full moon, let us bring forth our pasts and doubts, and praise the moon and its glorious night." The alpha female of the werewolves spoke. The whole gym erupted with the sounds of cheering and howling.

"We will commence our howling after the ceremonial dance and the alpha fights start afterwards." The alpha male of the werewolves nodded his head towards the alpha of the ookami.

"Tonight we have a special full moon upon us, one that only comes every ten thousand years. The Lunar Awakening will happen and the moon's light will shine upon the lucky couple of mates and will have their souls bind together for eternity. So let the lucky mates be everlasting in joy!"
