When Blaire first got her job at Rockstar, it didn't take long for her to realise that she was literally the only woman who worked on the floor. Several women worked there, obviously but a lot of those women were either secretaries, receptionists or actors. As for the graphic design department, Blaire was the only woman. This didn't bother her, though, she'd grown up with three brothers and a lot of her school friends were guys and all her interests had always been stereotypically male activities. Video games, computer science, programming, coding, yeah it was a man's world and she was living in it.

Blaire put her headphones on, she always worked better when she was listening to music. Her tendency to listen to music while she had been flipping burgers when she worked in fast food as a teenager definitely got her in trouble many times, as well as when she was in class. The music relaxed her, even if it was loud, aggressive music, somehow it was still relaxing.

She brought up a playlist on her computer and pressed play, the music travelled through the wires and into her ears, suddenly she felt at peace. There was a lot going on in her life at the time, her mind was almost always cluttered but now she had a moment where she could just sit back, relax and do her job in peace. Or so she thought.

After about an hour and a half of vigorous programming, paired with only the best music money could buy

After about an hour and a half of vigorous programming, paired with only the best music money could buy. She was startled to feel the tapping on her shoulder. She jumped slightly and looked up at who was touching her, it was one of the corporate bosses, one who didn't come down here very often. Blaire quickly pulled off her headphones and cleared her through.

"Oh, hi." She said, not knowing what else she could do. Her job didn't usually require her to speak with people of a higher rank than she was. She regretted opening her mouth almost immediately afterwards.

"Blaire Montgomery?" The guy asked. he was an older man, maybe forty-five, his hairline was receding and he wore glasses that rested on his nose.

"Uh, yes. Th-that's me." Oh god, why was she so awkward.

"Can you come with me please?" The man said motioning for her to get up. Shit, she thought. I'm so being fried right now, what did I do? She put her headphones down on the desk and stood up. The man lead her away from her work area, she turned back to see some of her co-workers giving her a worried look. She returned their stares.

The man called an elevator to their floor when the doors opened he let her get in first. When they were both in, the man commanded the elevator to take them up a few floors. The stood there side by side for several moments, Blaire noticed she was sweating and her heart rate was up. She decided there was no use in saying nothing, so finally, she asked.

"Um, what is this for?" She said softly. The man laughed. Blaire felt herself blush.

"Greg told me you were good with, you know, digital stuff." Oh thank God, it didn't sound like she was being fired.

"Uh, yeah." Blaire responded, "Why?"

"Our usual guy, Marcus has been in a car accident."

"Oh, shit! It he alright?" Blaire didn't know who Marcus was.

"He'll be fine, he's broken a few bones and he'll be out for a couple weeks, we need someone qualified to fill in for him." Blaire perked up. It sounded as though she was being promoted, even if it was only temporary.

"Well, that's good," Blaire added. "So um, what was Marcus' position?" She asked trying to remain casual in their conversation.

"Nothing special, he just looked over, monitored the motion capture technology, made sure everything was going well." Blaire's heart rate was still up, but this time it wasn't from fear, it was from pure and utter excitement. That's where they were going, to the twenty-first floor. That was where the magic happened. It's where all the recording went on. The motion capture, the voice recording, all the fun stuff. And for the next few weeks, it was her safe haven.

The elevator arrived on the twenty-first floor. The man let Blaire get out first. He lead her to Marcus' desk which was right in front of where all the motion capture was recorded. there were a tonne of people working there, setting things up. people on lighting, on cameras on costume, it was insane.

"This is Marcus' desk, basically you need to watch this monitor and make sure everything that is happening over there," He said pointing to the motion capture stage "in in sync with everything that is happening here. Sound easy enough?"

"Yes sir," Blaire said, there were lights in her eyes, she had never been so excited. The man laughed at her again.

"Call me Rob," He said holding out his hand for her to shake, she took it. "We haven't been properly introduced, however, we were in a rush to find someone. I'm sure you'll do just fine."

Blaire smiled. "I won't let you down, Rob." She said soluting to him. He laughed once more.

"Thanks, Blaire, lunch is in forty-five minutes. If you have trouble finding the food court and lounge ask Chris, he'll help." Rob pointed up to a guy who was fixing a light fixture in the ceiling he waved dowmn at them. "I think that's everything." Rob said clapping his hands together. "Any questions?"

Blaire looked around, this place was so cool. She tried to take it all in at once but there was just so much going on. "Nope," she said nonchalantly. "I think I get the gist of it."

Rob smiled, "Good girl," He pat her on the shoulder before turning around and leaving the studio to continue his business elsewhere. Blaire slouched down in her chair, a smile grew on her face. This was insane, her of all people, up here in the studio. It's gonna be a good day, she thought to herself.
