Standing in the rain at a crowded bus stop, Chris sighed as he looked down at his phone. Blaire turned to him, she had her backpack raised above her head to stop the pouring rain from coming down on her. "What?" She asked. Chris was shielding his phone screen with the sleeve of his leather jacket.
"Two things," he mumbled. "First of all, no busses today. we are going to have to get a taxi." Blaire groaned.
"Are you kidding me?" She said, looking down at her boots which were submerged in an ever growing puddle or rain water. She cautiously stepped out of it.
"Secondly, Marcus isn't getting any better. He's gone back into the hospital, there's been a complication."
Blaire perked up at this. "Really?" When she realised that it was probably not wise of her to sound so happy at the fact one of Chris's friends was sick, so she put on a concerned face to her words.
Chris frowned. "Yeah, I know. Well, it looks you are going to be sticking around a lot longer than we thought." Chris trudged up the sidewalk towards the street corner so he could hail the first taxi that appeared. Blaire secretly celebrated.
She wasn't happy that Marcus was still sick, that obviously wasn't. Good but she got to keep her new job for a little while longer. Her new job that was exciting. easy and fun, everything that her old job wasn't. Blaire had been working on the 21st floor for two weeks now, she had been having a great time there two. She wasn't ready to give it up just yet.
Chris called her over once he had gotten a taxi to pull up beside him. The both of them got into the backseat into the taxi. By this time, the two of them were soaking wet and freezing. Chris told the cab driver to take them to the building they worked at.
The taxi took off full speed towards their destination. Blaire jerked in her seat. "Shit, I forgot how reckless New York cab drivers were." She said so only Chris could hear, he laughed.
After five minutes of being thrown all over the car. Chris paid the driver and lead himself and his friend out of the car and back into the street. "I mean, it's a real shame. He's a good friend of mine and I don't like to see him so sickly." He opened the door for her and the two of them got in the elevator and started heading up.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. I hope he get's well soon." Blaire said. She wasn't sure if she meant it or not. When they arrived on the 21st floor, the first thing the two of them saw was the director, he was panicking. Blaire and Chris turned to each other. The director caught them out of the corner of his eye.
"Oh! Thank God you're here." He said relieved as he jogged towards where the two of them stood. "We are having some technical difficulties today. The rain got into the building and a lot of our shit is ruined." He said running his fingers through his thinning hair.
"Oh shit," Blaire said. "C-Can we help at all?"
The director shook his head. "No guys, it is beyond repair, we have some guys bringing in backup gear for the shoot today but they won't be back until this afternoon. We are having a group read in the common room. You guys can go and hang out in there for a while, but don't disturb any of the actors."
Chris smiled. "That sounds like a good time!" He said taking Blaire's hand. "We'll see you later Jullian!" He called as he ran down the corridor towards the common room, dragging Blaire behind him. She laughed as they ran. Chris stopped suddenly. "Oh, I have the best idea."

Chris had raided the nearest vending machine, he put a hundred dollar note into the machine and ordered every chocolate bar, bag of chips and soda pop in the entire thing. Blaire laughed as she attempted to help him carry all of the food down to the common room. "This should last us about twenty minutes." He joked.
As they quietly entered the common room, all of the actors who were supposed to be recording today were all sitting in a circle in the centre of the room. Blaire and Chris snuck around them, being careful not to make any noise. The tool a seat on a couch in the far right corner of the room. They sat together ad opened a soda each. The clanked the clans together to make a toast.
The two of them watched the group do a live reading of their lines while eating all the snacks at the same time. They laughed at the jokes and cried at the sad parts, the two of them were having fun just watching the group rehearse their dialogue.
They were up to a scene where Steven was practising yelling at Ned about something, which evidently was one of many scenes just like it. Chris was watching intensely as she shoved handful after handful of chips into his mouth. He nudged Blaire with his elbow, she turned to him. He whispered in her ear.
"He's so hot when he's angry." He moaned slightly.
She shoved him away. 'Oh my God, you're so weird." She laughed. Chris just shrugged. When the scene was over one of the other directors got up.
"Okay, good job everyone, you did well today. We'll take a fifteen-minute break if the gentlemen with the machinery haven't arrived by then, come back here. Go get some lunch." The circle of actors broke out, some went out of the common room to go to their trailers or to get some food from the canteen. But some stayed behind to speak with the director.
"Uh, looks like the show is over," Chris said as he collected what remained of their junk food feast and put it in his backpack. "Stay here, my love. I will be back. I need to shit."
"Like I said," Blaire added looking up at him. "bizarre."
Chris gave a goofy grin before slinging his backpack over his shoulder and leaving the common room. Blaire sat back on the couch, she crossed her legs and pulled out her phone. She put her headphones in and put her Spotify playlist on shuffle.
"Now I'm of consenting age, to be forgetting you in a cabaret..."
Blaire started scrolling through her phone. She checked twitter first. She decided this was a good as time as any to stalk her favourite celebrities on the internet. Before she could even get through six pages of Pete Wentz's Twitter feed, she felt someone tap her gently on her shoulder.
Blaire pulled out one of her headphones and looked up at whoever was trying to get her attention. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw who it was.
It was Steven.
